| Maxwell Lord was just another corporate ladder climber when he happened
upon the Construct and it propelled him to the top. In return, it wanted his help for
defeating Metron. He assembled a team called the Justice League
to do just that. In truth, though, it was not the Construct that was controlling the
machine, but Kilg&re. Kilg&re staged an abortive attack
upon the Source and almost won, masquing the whole incident. Lord went on to be a staunch
supporter the Justice League. He was killed when the man whose brother's death Lord caused
went stalking him. Somehow, he came back as a cybernetic entity. |
