| Will Payton was struck by focused stellar rays which empowered him with
special solar abilities. He used these energies to reluctantly right for right.
He was seemingly killed in a battle with Eclipso. He survived, however, but
was taken to Throneworld by aliens and imprisoned and studied. After years of this,
he was rescued by Jack Knight. In the process of his rescue, it was revealed that
the stellar energy which gave him powers came from the previous ruler of Throneworld and
Payton was imbued with his essence. So he took up the reins of the government with
