A native of Brooklyn, New York, Adrien Brody is quickly becoming one of the most critically acclaimed and sought after actors of present. Brody realized at a very young age that he wanted to be a performer, and his mother (Sylvia Plachy) supported his aspirations by enrolling him in acting classes. Eventually, Brody was performing off Broadway and landed a role in the PBS film, Home at Last. As well, he had a role in the short lived series, Annie McGuire. While his career was steadily picking up, Brody finished high school and began college.

Within a year, Brody landed his first feature film role in King of the Hill. His performance in the film led to several other roles, including Angels in the Outfield, Bullet, Solo and The Last Time I Committed Suicide.

Still, Brody's career had yet to catapult. However, he was given another chance when he landed the pivotal role in Terrence Malick's The Thin Red Line. The all-star cast as well as Malick's reputation created an intense buzz around the film. The talk centered around Brody, who was sure to find his breakout role in the much anticipated film. However, when the film was finished, much of Brody's role had been cut out in the editing process, totaling to a few scenes, most without dialogue. Regardless, his acclaim did not diminish, in fact, it grew.

Highly accomplished at the age of 26, Brody's reputation continues to build, and the film offers continue to come in. Most recently, he can be seen in Spike Lee's Summer of Sam. Before the end of the year, he will have finished several more films, including Oxygen and Liberty Heights. It is clear to see that within time, Adrien Brody will find himself in the higher profile roles and surrounded by the acclaim and stardom that he rightly deserves.
