Combat Clarifications / Amendments

Knockdown

After suffering a knockdown, the subject makes a Dex + Athletics roll, difficulty 6.
  If successful, she may get back on her feet immediately, but her initiative is reduced by two in the next turn.
On a failed roll, the subject spends her next action climbing to her feet, if she chooses to rise.
  On a botch, she lands particularly hard or at a severe angle, taking an automatic health level of normal damage.

Laws of Tens for Damage

Have character roll 1d10 to determine where they have shot the other...

1 = groin
2 = right shoulder
3 = left shoulder
4 = right arm
5 = left arm
6 = chest
7 = abdomen
8 = right leg
9 = left leg
10 = head

Note...we do not give head shot bonuses for random shots, such as this. In order to get a head shot bonus, they would have to roll for targeting, with increased difficulty (ie: aiming for the head). Otherwise, this is just normal diff/damage only it hit them in the head.

  Bashing Damage

Okay folks, another mass email from me.... This one is to help clairfy how we are doing our bashing damage soaks now.

There has been much discussion over how to do this and we have found this way is how it works best, so this is how we will be doing it....
Lets say that Morgan snapkicks Heidi in the chin.... Upon rolling damage, Morgan gets 7 successes. Heidi then rolls her stamina + fortitude and gets 4 successes on her soak roll.

We now look for the sum of Damage minus Soak.... 7-4=3 Now, as all of you know, bashing damage is halved, so half of 3 is 1.5.

Naturally, we can't give you 1.5 damage, so we now round this DOWN, making it a 1.

Heidi takes 1 level of damage.

And yes, you can fully soak your damage... If Heidi kicks Morgan and gets 2 successes on her damage, then Morgan successfully scores 1 on her soak roll, doing the math, we get 2-1=1.

Half of 1 is 0.5...

One cannot take half a point of damage so it is rounded down, making damage 0. Full soak.

Mind you, this is only for Kindred characters. Mortals do NOT get bashing damage halved. Also, it is only on bashing damage, such as punching, kicking, tackling or blunt trauma. Guns do BASHING DAMAGE! Knives, swords, etc. are considered lethal attacks and are not halved, even for Kindred characters.

Hope this helps to clarify. If you have any questions, feel free to email me at Cor_ai@webtv.net.

  Tasers

To attack with a taser, roll dex + melee, diff 6.

If hit, victim has to roll to soak 2 levels of electrocution damage. Damage is normal lethal damage UNLESS the character soaking rolls a botch. If character botches the soak roll, the damage is then aggrivated as it is considered that he just fried brains/blood.

No dice are added for additional successes on hit roll. Damage is always 2 levels.
