Story: Nightwolf was a historian of his native American heritage. He preserved his culture proudly and was shocked to see the Portal when Kahn began the initial invasion.
Before the actual invasion, however, Nightwolf turned to the Shamen of his tribe. Ancient shamanistic prophecies told of Shao Kahn's coming, and Nightwolf prepared by using the magics of the Shamen to protect the natives' sacred land. Anyone or thing in this area could not be touched by Kahn or his minions. Shao Kahn immediately worked to dislodge the hold Nightwolf had on the land. If the Chosen Warriors were to discover this land, it would mean a severe threat to his occupation.

Nightwolf left the protected land to find the other Chosen Warriors and lead them to the land. He found Liu Kang, Sonya, and the other warriors and they all regrouped to plan for an attack on Kahn in the sacred lands.
Nightwolf participated in the attack on Kahn's fortress, and witnessed the great emperor's downfall. Once the Earth returned to normal, he rose to become a great name among the heroes of earth. And the world gained a new respect for his beliefs.
