Story: Sektor was one of the Lin Kuei's most reliable assassins. His skill was second only to Sub-Zero. Then he began to find his abilities failing. His obsession with pleasing the Lin Kuei took him to the final level of insanity. He volunteered for the most horrific procedure ever heard of: Cyber-assassin assimilation.
The night Sektor died, Unit LK-9T9 was born. Code named: Sektor. Sektor was programmed, along with his younger brothers: Cyrax and Smoke, to go after the renegade ninja, Sub-Zero, who escaped from Headquarters and removed his mask, symbolizing his desertion of the clan. This violated the sacred code of honour set down centuries ago. Sektor and his comrades began to hunt Sub-Zero in different directions.
Sektor's path led him to the Outworld forces. He found himself swarmed over by Outworld troops. He caused an explosion which he believed vaporized Sub-Zero, and so turned to the disturbing pestilence at hand.

Sektor fought the Outworld warriors. Targeting them as threats to the stability of the Lin Kuei, Sektor slipped into the Fortress and was said to have initiated his self-destruct sequence. The resulting explosion blew out a large portion of the fortress and disarranged the polarities of the Portal. Those few seconds of instability may have been the only thing that helped the Earth forces defeat Kahn in final kombat.
With the advanced technology of the Lin Kuei, it was no chore to rebuild him. So they did, and kept him on standby, waiting for the right mission to arise. It soon did.
Cyrax had been lost for two years in the vast endless deserts of the Outworld. He was found, but he had changed. He did not respond as he had before. But the Lin Kuei had no choice but to send him after Sub-Zero, since their forces were so greatly reduced in the massacre of 95. They were suspicious of Cyrax's true loyalties and precisely what those years in the desert had done to him. Sektor was sent to watch and report on Cyrax, under the guise of helping him. It will be Sektor alone who decides if Cyrax lives to carry out his mission.
