Story: When the portal over Los Angeles forms, panic grips the populaces. The local authorities began to issue riot control throughout the city. One of their most experienced Lieutenants, Kurtis Stryker, was the leader of the Riot Control Brigade.
Then Shao Kahn began to strip the city of all their souls. Kurtis Stryker was a Chosen Warrior, but his ignorance caused him to believe that his survival out of the city once populated by millions was a mistake on the part of this new, unseen enemy.
Stryker mindlessly searched the city for any other survivors, and then saw the extermination squads, led by Motaro the Centurian, passing through the city. He stayed hidden and did not become their next victim.
After a fruitless search for human life, Stryker fell into a deep sleep. He received a vision from Rayden. The Thunder God explained that he was chosen by the Elder Gods to help save the world in a new Mortal Kombat. He tells him to travel west to meet others like him.

Stryker followed Rayden's instructions and set out westward. After brushing past an encounter with more of Motaro's extermination's squads, Stryker stumbled into the sacred lands of another Chosen Warrior, Nightwolf.
The few remaining Chosen Warriors regrouped in the sacred land and planned a frontal assault on Kahn's forces. Stryker joined in and helped topple the dark emperor.
When Sonya and Jax began the Outworld Investigation Agency, Stryker was one of the first volunteers to join.
