Update and Witty Editorial Archive
January 30, 2000
Well, heh heh heh. Do I feel sheepish? It's been what, three some months? I would blame it on the Y2K bug, but since October? Anyway, you'll be happy to know that Icicella and myself are racked with guilt and we felt like flinging ourselves from the Pit. The first one, too. We haven't updated in some time, as regulars will know. But I'd like to make a formal apology. It's about the New Temple and the Old Temple. We no longer have access to the Old one, and for that we're truly sorry. Really, we are. If we did have access, we'd post a "We moved!" sign and link to this place. So newcomers, welcome. We received some e-mails recently commenting on our page. It was pointed out that we put Las Angeles instead of Los Angeles. So sorry. We're Canadian. Changes made. Sorry again, from Aves.
Right now, a new Temple is under design. We intend to expand our horizons a bit, giving more information. Luckily, this time, we'll keep the same URL and so there won't be the same confusion that plagued the last "update." Hopefully it'll work out for the best. In the way of the new page, we'd like to put out a request. We're looking for the last four story screens of MK3. Namely, one has Sub-Zero and Sektor, one has Sonya, Jax and Kano, one has a fleet of centurians running across a desert, and the last has Liu Kang and Kung Lao in front of a yin/yang symbol. We lost them, and we haven't been able to find any since. If you have these pictures, or know where to find them, please give us an e-mail. Sincerely, Icicella.

Well, we just put ourselves back a few months. The hard drive containing that hard-to-get Goro graphic, all the bio pics, and the newly formatted MK1, 2, and 3 pages, is gone. Utterly gone. Our copy of the page blew its way to oblivion upon a shock wave of electrical signals, HD clusters, and ruins bytes of forgotten memory. Let us all bow our heads in silence for a few moments.
On a lighter note,

Well, now wasn't that pathetic. Our polls have been open for about a month, and we have a total of thirty-six votes.

Although it pretty much seems clinched, and we're sighing with relief on our side, we are leaving polls open until October 15, got that? October 15. So all you Boaz fans, make sure your voice is heard and put that over the threshold. Temple fans, make sure they don't. Anyway, moving on. We're getting the Mortal Kombat game site online soon. We managed to make ourselves the picture of Goro from the story screen of MK1, so we're going to use that. Also, there have been several mails asking us to post most of the pictures we used to have, primarily the bio/end pics from MKII. So we're working on doing that without messing up the new style that we've all become quite attached to.

Only a day after the addition of the Gold stories and we're called back in to work. Please, people, we do have lives. As always, just kidding. First off, we added an update archive, just so that we could keep our witty editorial remarks somewhere, at least, and I made an update pic to add to the stories we updated. I think they'll stay for a week or two. Anyway, we recently received an e-mail from one Jason Boaz. Now, this Boaz character claimed that we were, in fact, wrong. Now, as impossible as this may sound, we have decided to hear him our to some extent.
Here is what he wrote:
"Hello. I am Jason Boaz. I saw something in Rayden's bio that he assumed Sub-Zero's form in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. I think that spot needs fixing. In Mortal Kombat Trilogy, he chose to take matters into his own hands. He assumed his mortal form so he can once again exist on Earth and fight with his human comrades. Doing so, he was willing to fight by their side, even at the cost of his own immortality. He guided the Chosen Warriors into battle. Then, he and Shao Kahn engaged in battle. That weakened Kahn to the point where Liu Kang could finish him, once and for all.
As for Sub-Zero, he was probably brought back by the same force that brought Scorpion out of Hell. His goal was to probably finish what he started....the assassination of Shang Tsung. He probably did kill off Shang, and after Kahn was defeated, he confirmed that he WAS Sub-Zero by taking off his mask. then returned to hell.
That's it. I think the bios of Sub-Zero and Rayden need to reflect that. I hope I've helped you. Thank you.
A True Mortal Kombat Fan,
Jason Boaz"
Really, Jason, we're quite touched. And not in that enjoyable and spanky sort of way. Anyway, what we're trying to get at is, first off, we think you're wrong. Surprised? I thought so. Our argument is that we were kind of trying to read between a few lines. First off, it never said he revealed himself to be Sub-Zero, and said he'd return for the fourth tournament. Sub-Zero V
never returned for the fourth tournament. So we'll hold it the same way anyone does. A vote. It's time, Kombat Temple readers, to gird yourselves for war . . . I mean election. Send your votes to jesse@jjeagle.on.ca, and simply state in it at some point which side you prefer. If you want to keep the story we already have posted for Rayden and Sub-Zero V vote for the Kombat Temple. If you prefer the story Jason Boaz put forward, vote for him. Please be specific, sometimes it's hard to interpret what you people are saying. Jason can be contacted at clintele@webtv.net. We also would like to disagree with the fact that Liu Kang killed Kahn himself. Frankly, we don't like Kang much, and we wanted to give credit to everybody involved. Wittily yours, Aves Dal Garidor.September 15, 1999
Well, we've managed to uncover what appears to be a legit story for the six returning characters in MKGold. However, mk4.com persists to be absent of the story. Since neither of us have Dreamcast, we can't confirm them personally, but we'll have to take MKNightmare's word for it. So anyway, it turns out Kung Lao didn't die, Mileena did, and Baraka hasn't seen her for quite a while. As you can clearly see, this heads most of our theories off at the curb. But fear not! We have rectified the situation, and provided you with the best information we can under the circumstances. We have the PC edition of MK4, so we're hoping that they’ll make a patch or something to make all five returning characters available. Just to make it more convenient for people like us who are too damn cheap to buy a Dreamcast just for MKGold. Frankly, I think that was a bad move for Midway. We have to face reality, MKGold has gotten some exceptionally bad press and from we can tell, little to no advertisement alongside the new (and neat) commercials for Dreamcast. But then, I'm not the one with my finger on the entertainment button . . . yet. Your faithful pagemaker, Icicella of the Kombat Temple.
