Eric and Kevin's Rocky Mountain Adventure

June 25, 2002

So it’s the last day and I had to freakin’ wake up at 5 in the morning! I’m still tired and I’ve basically slept every bus ride!

I woke up to the Germany-Korea World Cup match, which I later found out Germany won (nice run Korea). The reason we had to wake up so early was that we had to catch the ship from the city of Vancouver to Vancouver Island and the city of Victoria. It was pretty cool driving onto the ferry and seeing all the vehicles getting in, and exploring the ship. I didn’t really enjoy the view much, not much to see anyways, so instead I spent the 1.5 hours enjoying the view in the Video Arcade! Boy how time flew by.

Our first stop was the capitol building of British Columbia. Not too interesting. I did have fun stretching my legs across these two platforms and pretending to be all martial artsy.

Once back on the bus, I slept, again. When I woke up I found myself surrounded by the flowers and exquisite beauty of nature called Butchard Gardens. I took like 50 pictures there and Terry’s dad took around 3 times that! There were really interesting plants and amazing landscapes. The fresh air just encapsulates you. Hard to describe. Sadly, we had to leave, and it was back to the ferry.

On the ferry we ate lunch and then it was back to the arcade. I spent like 20 bucks there (for relief…I think Eric spent a lot more)…sigh. So tempting.

As we were now back on the mainland, it was back to Seattle. Slowly, members of our tour group split off. Some left this morning, others, 6 to be exact (including the pimped out guy), received a limousine back to Richmond once we got off the ferry (the tour guide joked that they were getting 6 bikes).

Now there were all these empty seats on the bus so I left Eric (didn’t want him invading my space…you know…hehehe) and got my own pair of seats where I was able to recline and doze off.

At the US-Canada border (where I had fun walking the length of the bus and going “US…Canada…US…Canada”…don’t get it? Nevermind) we all had to get off the bus with our luggage and go through customs…a different world since 9.11.

After another hour-2 hours of driving we arrived at the airport and it was time to say goodbye to Stephen, the bus driver (Bruce Dixon) and all the other passengers (like the brother and sister that basically followed me around…a bit annoying at times, but their intentions were good).

Eric, his mom, and Terry’s parents switched to our earlier flight, and Jane and Peter’s parents, and Auntie Mao and Uncle Hsu were on different flight companies.

So it was dinner at the airport and then the walk onto the plane. Now I’m sitting on the plane, which has just taken off, and I am, again, off to sleep. Aiye, it was a pain writing this without a laptop (yes…ACTUALLY WRITING…can’t emphasize that enough), but I did it. Hopefully I can actually sleep. I’ll probably end up sleeping when I get home…ah home, can’t wait to walk in. When I do, I’ll just have a lot of work to do. Chinese Club stuff for Saturday, starting SRP Monday. Let the “games” begin.
