Doomcloud Keep


Map and Layout

Description: Doomcloud Keep is located on the sole island of a lake within the Badlands. The Badlands is the swampy area located in a southern region of DC. Storms cover the sky almost daily over the Badlands dumping large amounts of rainfall over the murky region and blocking out most sunlight. The lake on which the Keep rests is fairly large and is around 500ft. deep in its darkest waters. Inhabited by water-borne demons and monsters no boat has ever been sailed there and the denizens of the Badlands avoid going in it. The area surrounding the lake is best described as a thick swamp. Hazy fog and numerous hazards make this area dangerous for travel and nearly impossible to build on. The water levels in some areas of the swamp can range from ankle high to well above 20ft. and it is best to stick to the paths. Inhabited by a range of nasties itself it is not wise to travel these woods at night either. Doomcloud itself is constructed overlooking the lake on the north end of the small island. A rocky crag jutting out of the waters the Keep is kept well above the fluctuating shores below. The concept behind the Keep was strictly for defense due to the constant threat of attack and it reflects on the positioning of it's features. Rebuilt after the first was destroyed to be one of the strongest defensive castles in the realm. Each stone within it's walls were painstakingly enchanted by the magi of EU and the doorways and gateways enforced with the toughest metals. Along with such precautions several battlements were put in place for which cannons have been mounted to guard from land and air invasions. To discourage assaults on the island only one bridge was constructed so that it can quickly be sealed off from the Badlands. Serving as the center for the Uprising, Doomcloud stands as the symbol of Darkness in DC. It is the command center and home of the forces of evil.



(1)Main Bridge-The only way onto the island by land is over a large wooden bridge located on the south end of the island.
(2)Island Entrance Gate- In order to gain access to Doomcloud you must pass through this gate which blocks land travel to and from the island.
(3)Guard Houses- Holding around 45% of the forces guarding Doomcloud at any given time these twin buildings are fortresses of enchanted stone and cannon emplacements.
(4)Training Grounds- The grounds in which new and old members improve thier skills in any form of combat from magery to sword fighting.
(5)Main Gate- Entrance to the main castle is restricted by a gate made of metal alloys and mystic runes.
(6)Bloodslayer Barracks- Home of the warriors of the Uprising this place houses the war rooms, conference halls, and meeting halls needed to command legions all across DC. The finest warriors to ever stand with the legions of Darkness have come from these halls.
(7)Quarters- The resting place of the warriors garrisoned at Doomcloud keep.
(8)Stables- This building houses steeds ranging from horses to beasts of darkness used in mounted combat and travel.
(9)Armory- A warehouse used to house the standard issue items of the Uprising.
(10)Storage warehouses- Warehouses is used to store up provisions and materials for the Uprising.
(11)Blacksmith- The forging place for everything metal needed within the keep.
(12)Inner Gate- Entrance within the inner walls is blocked by a gate made of enchanted iron.
(13)Dark Chapel- The gathering place of the many religious sects of darkness. This also houses the tomes of history of the clan, the records of events since the Uprising's beginnings.
(14)Servant Hall- A multi-purpose building this one is used to house the many minions that keep Doomcloud running. It acts as quarters, storage, and conference halls needed for the upkeep of the castle.
(15)Courtyard- At the center of the castle lies the statue of a dragon in which a dark blue water rushes out of it's mouth into a small fountain. This place is usually busy with grounds keepers and people passing by.
(16)Entrance to the Underground- To gain access to Shadowblade and the Netherworld you must first enter a building designed to be a fall-back fortress. From there you may reach the large staircase that leads below.
(17)Garden- One of the quietest parts of the keep it is forbidden to speak in anything above a whisper here. In the center is a pond, silvery koi fish made of mercury reside there.
(18)Marketplace- Traders from Shadowblade constructed this warehouse to be a convenience for those trading with the Keep. Inside you can find everyday items one might need.
(19)Royal Quarters- The private halls of the Overlord and Overlordess.
(20)Dining Hall- Doubling as a place of gathering and feasting, three times a day this is the busiest area of the castle.
(21)Main Hall- Housing the largest area for any gathering it is here that the policies, strategies, and information gathering takes place. Consisting of a massive main area and numerous hallways and smaller chambers it acts as the command center for everything the Uprising does.
(22)Entrance to the Dungeon- Guarding the underground prisons and torture chambers it is here those that may never see the light of day again are taken.
(23)Xentall Tower- Home of the magi of the Uprising. It is here that the largest amounts of libraries, studies and artifact keeping are held. The tallest sections of the tower holds the gathering places of the Archmagi and the policies of the mage class are forged.
