ANOTHER TRIBUTE TO ZX SPECTRUM ...

The second wave by Stefan Andersson

"In a humble attempt to document ZX Spectrum in Sweden (Autumn 1998)"

"My first contact with the speccy emulator scene was when I bought the PC REVIEW magazine in sept 1995 (in Montreal) which came with a CD containing Gerton's Z80 emulator that I of course registered and speccy got me hooked once again. I found the NVG site and downloaded programs...
After a few years I decided to try to document the speccy past in sweden. I found my old joystick cassettes and used a program (see below) on the web to translate them into emulator format. The next thing was to find people in Sweden that used and worked with ZX Spectrum... this is the outcome of my task (August 1999)."

My first home computer was ZX 80 (it still works with a 16K glitch free ram pack) back in the early 80's. The computer with the blinking screen (imagine I almost bought a VIC-20 instead)...

I followed up with a ZX Spectrum 1983 and I selected the following games with it: Othello, Planeth of Death, Hungry Horace, Horace goes skiing and Flight simulator. The full system (still working in my old room at my folks place in Vetlanda, Sweden) consist of ZX Spectrum 48, ZX Printer, Dk'tronics keyboard, Kempston Joystick and a Kempston interface to a 5" floppy drive.

After "serving" 2 years in university (Technical programming in Växjö) I ended up working for Ericsson /// (1988), programming /testing mobile phone applications , initially five years in Sweden (Linköping) then three years in Canada (Montreal) followed by 2 years in USA (Dallas) and now in Ireland (Dublin) since 1998.

I made a few speccy games that got a little bit of recognition...
