Battle Scenarios
The following battle scenarios
will be incorperated in a war between the NAC and the FSE. Of course you
may convert them to suite your perticular background or two or more warring
races. These are just brief outlines and ideas, the specifics you will
have to work out yourself to fit your campaigns. Have fun!
CLOAK AND DAGGER
Enemy prescence in the
area is heavy and this system has a virtually inpenatratable field of mines,
system defense drones and radar bouys. A military station also orbits the
largest planet an asteriod field engulfes the whole ensemble. If we attack
with this present set up they will be able to detect us and send for reenforcements
before we can clear the asteroid field and get to them. Your job is to
send a specially equiped Heavy Cruiser with a cloaking device and slip
past the asteriods. The rest of the fleet will hang back out of scanning
range. Maneuver your cruiser through the system defense drones to the Radar
Bouy. Decloak and destroy it. From the time you decloak you have two turns
to eliminate the Bouy. If you fail it will no doubt ring alarm bells through
out the system bringing in a storm of enemy warships which will no doubt
double us and the mission will fail. If you succeed cloak again and FTL
the hell out. You may navigate the rest of your forces through the asteriod
field and proceed to destroy all enemy prescence in the area at your leisure.
Good luck!
BASE OF OPERATIONS
The Pintar Quadrant has
nine different systems. The Federal Stats Europa (FSE) have claimed and
colonized seven of these eight systems. The last one unnamed, unclaimed
and uncolonized, NC-166 is their next target. It will be some weeks before
they begin the opperation because all there ships and resources and currently
finishing up the seventh and biggest system in the Quadrant, New Europa.
It is our goal to set up a base at NC-166 consisting of an orbital military
space station, system defence drones and a large mining facility in that
order. The New Anglian Confederation (NAC) is dangerously low on
dilithium and iron for shipbuilding. We need the materials the planets
in NC-166 can offer us. Your mission is to send a light fleet and oversee
that any passing FSE patrols do not see our installations while they are
being built. You have orders to destroy any patrols that go through the
system. They must not alert the forces at New Europa of our prescence.
Good luck.
THE MINING FACTOR
Dr. Declan Cambridge a
well known scientist of the FSE has extensive information and knowledge
of iron and dilithium mining. He is the reason why the FSE have always
been ahead of us when it came to ship building and mining. Our spies inform
us that he is onboard this Jeanne D'arc class Fleet Carrier, the Tiram.
It is currently on route to Rin. You will be given a heavy fleet of ships
and a special Marine Landing Craft (LC) to board the Carrier. Disable the
ships screens by threshold rolls or with needle beams from the specially
equiped Light Cruisers. Then guide your craft to come along side the carrier.
If the LC ends it's move withing 2 inches of the carrier, it may land.
Things would be a lot easier if the target has no engines or command center.
Destroying those will make things a lot easier. Once your team is onboard,
it will take them one turn to capture the doctor and get out of there.
For that one turn, the LC is attached to the carriers hull so it goes wherever
the carrier goes. The Marine LC breaks off and you must defend it for the
rest of the mission. Destroy all remaining ships. Good Luck.
JUICY TARGETS
Already we have small
transports bringing the dilithium for our engines and iron ore for our
ships. However, a few days ago one was lost to the hands of some pirates.
We need to secure the route that the transport ships take back to our stronghold
Philidelphia in the Gamma Quadrant next door. Your orders are to
patrol the transports route stopping in these three systems. Provide cover
for the transports as they make their way back to Philidelphia. Remember
as transports take hits, they loose their cargo. Deal with the pirates
quick and mercilessly. They have done too much damage already. It is absolutely
vital that we get that cargo or we cannot build reenforcements. Don't let
me down. Good Luck.
HIT AND RUN
Several fleets however
are moving through the Quadrant. Intellegence reports almost twice as much
enemy activity as anticipated. Several convoys are moving back and fourth
between systems and planets busy delivering and picking up goods and materials.
One such convoy will pass near the Blundette system. Several transports
are among them. Dilithium, fighters and other precious materials are beleived
to be on board. Destoying this convoy will slow down the FSE greatly.
And it will be some time before they realize what has happened. The
Blundette system has little defenses and no stations of any kind. Just
a medium sized colony on the planet and few escorts and cruisers lurking
about. However this is a potentialy dangerous system because of it's natural
phenomena. Energy fields and black holes will plague your progress, so
be careful. Your mission is simple. Destroy the transports and their
escorts. Bomb the colony but leave one of the ships defending the planet
to tell the story. When your mission is complete, exit by FTL on a heading
of 3. This course will take you out of the Pintar Quadrant to Philidelphia.
By doing this, the FSE forces will beleive the attack came from some ships
from Philidelphia and will not suspect a Navy base in the area. Good Luck.
STRIKE AT THE HEART
The FSE have been building
a weapon which they are now calling the Nova Cannon. A specially
fitted Superdreadnought, fitted with the Nova Cannon, 2 Heavy Cruisers
fitted with a Wavegun (smaller version of Nova) and a heavy mix of ship
classes are on their way to NC-166 as we speak. We do have sufficient ships
to take them down, but not all are in the area. When the FSE ships arrive
in the system, hold them off with the smaller vessels unit our heavy forces
can arrive. If you can focus all your firepower to the vessels with the
special weapons. We would like to avoid putting our expensive ships on
the line, even though they have more firepower. We must destroy this technology.
Protect the system with everything you've got Commander. Don't let me down.
ENEMY OF THE STATE
A traitor has been cought
among our ranks. Commander Edward Mullen of the Valley Forge Superdreadnought,
The Yorkshire is planning to leak information to the FSE government. He
tried to take the Superdreadnought so he would be well defended, but the
crew mutaneered and he is currectly escaping in a light cruiser. He is
running through this asteroid field in hope that our heavy forces can't
follow him. Unfortunately heavy forces is all we have to chase him down
with. You will be given two battleships and you are to hunt him down. Destroy
him before he can clear the asteriod belt and escape by FTL. Good luck
(The entire table should be covered with asteriods no closer then 10" apart.
Leave an opening at the oposite end of the table so a ship can FTL safely.)
THE UNTOUCHABLES
A group of negotiators
and high presisdential officials of the NSL are on their way to rendezvous
with us. They will join us in the fight against FSE. It is beleived that
a small task force is aware of this and is on their way to destroy the
vessel in an effort to induce war between us and the NSL. Protect it at
all costs. With the help of the NSL the Feds won't stand a chance against
us.
