FULL NAME: New Anglian Confederation Royal Space Navy
VESSEL ABBREVIATION: RNS (Royal Navy Starship)
TECHNOLOGIES: Beam batteries, levels 1-3, Pulse Torpedo Launchers, Salvo Missile Launchers and magazines, PDS, Area Defense Fire Con, Fighter Bays, FireCons, Standard Sensors, Level One and Two Screens, Armor, FTL, Sub mu packs.
ORIGIN:
British RN, plus some Canadian and US.
BREIF
SHIP DESIGN DOCTRINE: The New Anglian Confederation vessels are
all versatile, capable of mounting adequade attacks and defence against
all types of enemy. Because they have some of everything on their vessels,
they cannot excel in any one area, but neither do they have a weakness
in any one area.
HOTSHIPS:
The NAC "hotships" are vessels that go the furthest for your buck and should
be included when you are building your fleet. A hot ship is marked by the
graphic.

REPORT
The Harrison is one no
doubt a small craft not capable of long term use or effective combat. It's
drive systems are low, has no PDS systems and mounts only a single one
battery. The only way that it pulls it's load is it's hull of 2 hit points
which is average or more than most races. Unless your looking for plenty
of cheap cannon fodder leave this guy behind and put the extra twenty into
a Corvette or Frigate.

REPORT
The Arapaho class corvette
is a tough little ship for his size. Because of it's sacrificing a normal
hull it mounts two 1 batteries, exercising a powerful thrust drive and
it's armor actually increases the survivability more because it won't have
to perform as many thresholds. That extra time of full operation it can
deliver a blow sufficient enough to take down vessels it's own size and
even a few classes larger.

REPORT
A big upgrade to the small
Minerva class frigates and almost just as good as the Ticonderoga Destroyer,
a happy medium. It carries the same offensive weaponry as the destroyer,
for less the cost and only two less hit points. The biggest upgrade which
would no doubt help more for long term battles would be that it has sufficient
mass for 2 repair crews instead of the one the Minerva can handle. Tacoma's
should be a top priority for your escort classes.

REPORT
The Ticonderoga is gaining
age fast but still remains the workhorse of the escort fleet for NAC as
do most destroyer classes for all factions. Able to mount an additional
PDS system and a few more hitpoints to the hull makes it a somewhat worthy
upgrade to it's younger brother, the Tacoma. The destroyers, like Tacoma
frigates, are a must in any size fleet. They provide adequate support for
a small amount of money.

REPORT
With the jump of 20 Mass
from the Destroyer you can call this ship a class of it's own, not simply
a bigger version of the Ticonderoga. It has an additional repair crew,
and another two battery and a much stronger hull. More fitted for independent
and longer term operations than the escort class ships, like the smaller
escorts, it is often overlooked to some bigger targets, in which time it
is capable of inflicting a fair amount of damage. The Huron class
light cruiser is a worth edition to any fleet.

REPORT
With only a thrust factor
of 4, the Furios can mount some heavier offensive and defensive systems
bettering itself for it's job. Along with the Beijing B class Escort
cruiser for the ESU they are the smallest ships to mount the powerful three
batteries. In edition to a nice weapons suite the Furios has a Pulse Torpedo
and an area defence firecon. With the ADFC and it's smaller drive of 4,
it's best use is protecting the larger NAC ships such as both fragile carriers
from heavy missile and fighter attacks. That way it's use is not crippling
a wing of the smaller drive 6 NAC vessels.

REPORT
The Vandenburg class
cruiser is no doubt a decent vessel, providing sufficient defensive screens,
armor and weaponry to do more than adequate damage and survivability in
combat. However it's relatively large drives do no allow for greater weaponry
than the Furios class escort. A variation which is highly recommended for
campaign games and players allowed to edit ships, is the Vandenburg T Heavy
Cruiser, which exchanges it's drive for a smaller 4, and mounts dual Pulse
Torpedo Tubes

The Majestic being a smaller
cheaper version of it's big brother the victoria, there is little difference
in size and price. Simply the Victoria practices heavier beam weaponry
and two pulse torpedoes while the Majestic pulls it's load with missiles.
Although the NAC have little missiles in their ship designs, the Majestic
is useful to help cut down heavy ship targets while their impressive array
of beams from both the battlecruiser and the rest of the fleet, finishes
off the target.

REPORTS
The
first NAC vessel to have a hangar bay, the Excalibur is of course a refit
of the old Avalon class which was simply put, half a Valley Forge Class
Supedreadnought. With this new refit, came some heavier armor, a Pulse
Torpedo and some heavier beam arrays. Fighters also premier as mentioned
before, to give some extra anti-ship punch and long range operations.

REPORTS
This
Superdreadnought, like most of it's class for other races is the best,
most versatile, most powerful in the fleet. It is this ship that keeps
NAC alive in their ongoing wars. Since it's ships are so versatile, they
do not excel in any one area and thus are not extremely effective, but
are not extremely weak either. The Valley Forge settles the score.

REPORTS
The
NAC doctrine for fleet carriers are different than most races. They tend
to average sized ships, somewhat smaller than most Carriers with weak hulls,
but loaded with heavy defences. Level 2 Screens, four PDS and Grade 9 Armor
ensure that this carrier can stand the heat and launch all it's fighters
before being destroyed or stay alive long enough for it's escorts to deal
with the threat. I suppose with all these defences it evens out the score,
and the cheap price is nothing to complain about, but the carriers are
often referred to as "fragile launching platforms".

REPORTS
Like
the Inflexible, the Ark Royal has a weak hull but excellent defences. It
also carries an additional 2 battery for more stickier combat situations.
Unlike the Inflexible, it carrier 6 fighter bays, plenty to
make up for it's lack of combat weaponry. The Ark Royal is a hot ship because
of it's fighter bays.
