Introduction
============
After months of waiting, the US version finally came out. As an
Final Fantasy franchise, i have bought the import version a few months
back when it just came out. I have replayed the whole US version and
i'm glad to say that most of the translation came out very nicely.
Also, i myself has wrote a Final Fantasy Basic Guide faq, based on the
japanese version but there are some alignment problems with the faq.
Please bear with it, and i will change it when i have the time. This
time, i am going to write about the cards, based on the US version.
There aren't many faq based on the US version, but things are coming
out nicely. Scott Ong is planning to write the walkthrough for the US
version, and has now reached disc 1. So, i guess there's no need for
me to do any walkthrough. Hope that this faq will be of some use
to you.
I have collected all the cards from page 1 to page 10, finally after
playing day and night with the Card Queen and the CC members.
The faq is best viewed using wordpad wrapped to ruler.

-All the card game list from page 1 to 10.

Next Update:
After a tiring work, the usage for all the card conversion using
Quezacotl's card mod ability has finally been completed. I have added
in the uses for each item and classify them as either junk materials,
blue magic items for Quistis's Limit Break, Ammos for Irvine's Limit
Break, Compatibility items and so on. I have added in informations
on card queen, card club and other sidequest like UFO chasing.
I intend to update more informations on the card queen and card
club. Kindly wait for future updates!!! Also, refer to Dan Orner
's item guide faq. If you want more
informations about rare cards, refer to Eugene See

Below is a whole list of cards from level 01 to 10. You can use G.F
Quezacotl's card mod ability to convert card(s) into item(s). There
are many rare and good items which are very hard to obtain. So, make
full use of the cards. Now, let's move on to the list. Note that
once you have completed your card collection, you should see a star
next to the card option in the main menu. Also, any lost cards will
also be considered complete, as long as you have gotten that card at
least once.

II)Card Club Members
=======================================================================
The card club is an organisation formed by a group of Triple Triad
franchise. It's not easy to be a member of card club as you must be
very good with playing cards. The card club is composed of the CC
Jack, Club, Diamond, Spade, Heart, Joker and finally the leader, king.
You can find the CC at these locations. Note that they will appear
randomly. If they do not appear at these locations, try going in and
out of the screen until they appear. You can play with them in
Balamb Garden from disc one to disc three.
Note:You must defeat every CC member in this order from Jack to
Heart, then King. However, you can challenge Joker any
time when you have defeated two or more CC members.
Note:Each CC member get more and more tougher each time, meaning the
chances of them using a better card is higher.
Tips:Save before you play, just in case you lose any card(s).

Note:The CC members will use the cards that you do not have, however,
as for the PuPu card, you need to complete the UFO chasing
quest.
In order to play with the CC members in disc 4, you must first
complete the CC quest from disc one to three, meaning you have
to defeat CC Jack, Club, Diamond, Spade, Heart and King. For exact
way of getting Ragnarok in disc 4, i won't go into too much details.
I will just briefly describe it.
Notice that there are many chains and doors just before the entrance
to Ultimecia Castle? Have you ever wondered how to enter the chocobo
forest in Grandidi Forest? Simply enter the door nearest to the you,
which is on your left side. You should find yourself on a beach and
inland is a huge patch of forest, that is Grandidi Forest, of course.
Simply walk to the chocobo forest and you will get a free chocobo
ride. Ride the chocobo along the western continent of Esthar and down
to Centra region. Refer to the red dot in the world map. This indicates
your airship, Ragnarok. When you get your airship, this is what you
should do.
For default Controller:
1.Hold Triangle and X if you are playing the Japanese version.
2.Hold Circle and X if you are playing the American version.
Wonder why the Controls are different?
A group of people [I don't know why?] e-mail to Square requesting
Square to change the button configurations. For me, the new controls
doesn't suit me at all. So, i customise my controls to that of the
Japanese version. [I wonder who did that?] [What a lousy suggestion!]
And do you know?
As you know, the controls have been changed. It affects Final Fantasy
Anthology as well. I don't know about Final Fantasy Collection, which
is the Japanese version of Final Fantasy Anthology. X button became
the confirm button and the Circle button became the cancel button.
Luckily, Square only swops these two buttons. The menu button and the
switch member button during battle are still Triangle for Final Fantasy
Anthology. If Square swops the buttons again, i'll probably have
problems adjusting to new controls. Luckily, for Final Fantasy VIII,
you can customise your controls.
If done correctly:
CC Heart will meet you at the entrance of the Ragnarok. She says that
you can play with all the CC members anytime you want inside Ragnarok.

relax a bit and play some cards, right?

About the CC Members' comeback
==============================
The CC members are making a comeback. Of course, they still can't
admit that they have lost to you previously. [The CC quest] The CC
members will pick a rule randomly from ANY REGION, whether it is
Centra region, Esthar region, Balamb region and so on. They will use
cards that you do not have, except PuPu card. This includes rare cards
as well. The WORST rule in my personal opinion [I am not sure if you
agree or not] is the random rule. The CC members are of course, more
tougher than before. Now, good luck and enjoy your card collection.
Note:If you find that you are missing a few more rare cards and the
CC members do not show these new cards anymore, try beating
the Card Queen in disc 4 at the Esthar Continent. Refer to
below for more details. Why? After beating all the CC members,
including CC King again in Ragnarok in disc 4, my card collection
is still incomplete as i do not have the Kiros and Irvine card.
Then, i play with Card Queen. Indeed, the two missing cards are
with her! That's how i complete my card collection!

III)Card Queen
=======================================================================
I won't talk about the card queen quest as chasing the card queen
can be very tedious. If you need any help, you can refer to other
faqs, specifically Scott Ong's faq Part II, Eugene See's rare card
faq and so on. As for the game rules, i won't go into details.
When you reach disc 4, you may be think that it is impossible to
collect all the cards. However, you can challenge Card Queen in
disc 4 to get all the rare cards. Card Queen will use rare cards
that are level 9 to 10. The card queen will use all the rules
to play with you.
The Queen is found in the escape retrieval pod in Abandon Plains
just at the southern most tip of Esthar Continent. It's invisible
in the world map. Simply land your Ragnarok nearby and make your
way to the southern tip. The world map screen will change to the
field screen and you should see card queen.
Note:The location is the same where you discover Piet in in disc
three.

IV)Sidequest:UFO Chasing-Getting PuPu card
=======================================================================
You can view the UFOs from disc two onwards at these locations:
1. The seashore located east of Timber.
2. Outside winhill village in Galbadia continent.
3. Desert in Centra ruins, northeast of Edea's house.
4. The isolated island east of Trabia Garden.
Equip Diablo or Bahamut's encounter none and roam around these areas.
You will encounter empty battles and see the UFO flying, giving you
empty gil, exp and AP. Once you have viewed all four UFOs, go to
cliff north of chocobo holy. Land the ragnarok, walk along the cliff
and you will fight PuPu. Defeat PuPu and then head to Balamb area,
the area where Balamb Garden used to be located. Give him 5 elixirs
and you will get the PuPu card. If you didn't give elixirs to PuPu,
and defeat PuPu, you will get an accelerator, but you will lose
the PuPu card. My advise is take the PuPu card because this is the
only card which you can't win from any card game.

V)Sidequest:Getting Chicobo card
=======================================================================
Visit all chocobo forest, solve all the puzzles. You need to use
the chocobo sonar and detector and leave one chocobo. The chocobo
will summon a mother chocobo. Get some holy, meteor, ultima stones.
If you want more informations on how to solve the riddles, refer to
Scott Ong's walkthrough part II.
The location of the forest are:
1)Near Edea's house.
2)North of the Centra Ruin.
3)Southwest of Cactuar Island
4)North of Shumi Village.
5)South of Shumi Village.
6)North of Trabia Garden near the mountains.
7)Chocobo Holy is located in the large patch of forest in the
northeast part of the world map, north of Esthar continent.
When you have solve all the riddles from 1 to 6, ride a chocobo
from Trabia Garden all the way to the eastern coast of the
chocobo holy. Enter the chocobo forest and you should see a chocobo
dancing. Talk to that chocobo and you will get the chicobo card.
The chocobo forest is being surrounded by Grandidi Forest.
