There are 3 mini-games in the first Wonder Square. Personally, I think these games are just a waste of time, but you could win a lot of money if you use the tricks outlined below.
Arm wrestling has got to be one of the simplest Gold Saucer games. All it requires you to do is simply hammer on the Circle button. If you win, you get 1 GP for Sumo level and 2 GP for Wresler level. Doesn't seem much does it? Well, you can do a neat little trick here. All you need is a rapid fire controller and a lot of spare time. All you need to do is to put the Circle button on Auto or strap a rubber band on it to keep the button down, and have Cloud always facing the machine by putting something heavy on the D-Pad. He'll keep playing the game, and he'll win a couple hundred GP per hour .
This has got to be the only game that has no tricks to it. All you do is go up to the machine and pay the Gil. You'll get either a potion or 1 GP (whoopie). There's a 1 in 100 chance of getting a megalixer or 80 GP.
I never was good at this mini game. Timing is the key to this basketball shooting game, but I never did get the timing to this. Supposedly, all you just have to do is wait until Cloud brings the ball up to the spike in his hair, wait half a second, then press the circle button. The prizes for this game are 1 GP for each shot made, with a 300 GP maximum. If you can master this game, then e-mail me. I don't know anyone who is good at this game.
