I like the second Wonder Square better than the first. It's got 2 of my favorite mini-games, G-Bike and Snowboarding.
Man, is this game ever boring. Even though you win 30 GP, it's only the first time you play it. Just play it once then collect your 30 GP by talking to the person behind you. The "trick" to this game is to feed Mog until he looks like he's full ( he'll jump up and down once he is ), then stop. That's it!
Hey, if your looking for a good fighting game, look elsewhere. Beneath the "fighting game" veneer lies good old Rock-Paper-Scissors. It sounds decent, but there's only one problem. The computer cheats. And when you're playing against someone who cheats at Rock-Paper-Scissors, it's not very fun. The most I've ever got at this game is 3 GP. My only tip is to stay away as far as humanly possible from this mini game.
You can play the sub mini game once you play the actual game in disc 2. In the actual game, you could just ignore the yellow submarines, but in the Gold Saucer version, you have to destroy every single submarine now. This may sound hard, but the trick is in using the long range view to find the subs, and learning to reverse quickly and dropping your speed to avoid torpedo locks. Each level you beat gets you 20 GP (once per level only), and an offensive battle item.
This bike game has got to be my favorite mini game in Final Fantasy 7. It's also better than most games out on the PlayStation which is very, very sad. There's a lot of strategy involved in this game. One, you have to stay with the truck constantly, because every time it gets hit, your score goes down by 500 points. This makes protecting the truck your number one priority. There are two kinds of enemies in this game. The red bikes, which must be defeated by ramming them, and the yellow bikes, which you need to defeat by slashing at them constantly. You win 10 GP every time you win at this game ( your score must exceed 10 000 points ), which makes it very worthwhile.
My second favorite mini game in Final Fantasy 7. It costs 200 gil and you can continue as often as you like. To get courses B, C and the time trial, you need to score at least 70 points on courses A, B, respectively. Your score is tabulated by your time, and how many balloons you hit. The only real trick to this is to get as many balloons as possible, and using the L and R buttons to steer. The prizes (90+) for this course are: Course A: 30 GP and a Safety Bit. Course B: 100 GP and an Enemy All Materia. Course C: 300 GP and a Crystal Bangle.
