Any comments, suggestions or corrections to my information are
welcome. Please include sources for any additions or corrections you
wish to make whenever possible. While I do not regularly read or post
in the Fidonet Highlander echo any more, I do still periodically check
personal mail there. People with Internet access can send mail to me at
frj@tiac.net, though it is a joint account with my roommates. If you
include a key word such as Highlander or Watcher in the subject then
the mail filter will put it directly in my folder.
I will keep the current version of this list available for download
from my Web page. (http://www.tiac.net/users/frj/shettle.html) It will
also be available for FREQ as WATCHER.ARJ on the Silver Mage's Guild
FIDONet node 1:101/245. The phone number for the Guild is
1-617-899-9483 in Waltham, MA.
This list only includes those Watchers and the information about
them which can be gained from the television show. Anything which
originates in a fan-fiction story is intentionally left out. To my
knowledge no Watchers have appeared in the movies or the cartoon. I
realize that Joe Dawson appears in the novel, Scimitar, but have not
read it yet. I will probably start including the novels as of the next
version of my list.
I have included those Watchers who appeared in an episode. I have
tried to include all those mentioned in the excerpts from the Watcher
database shown in "Finale". But due to the reception quality of my TV
and VCR, I couldn't quite make out all the names. I hope to be able to
make corrections based on the real life version of the Watcher CD-ROM
once it is available from the Highlander Store.
As of this writting, I have identified 60 Watchers. Of these, 56
are or were field agents at some point, including 19 who went rogue and
became Hunters. I have listed 2 who were purely in research, and 2
mentors whose status is unknown. In addition, I have listed 2 people
who are relatives of Watchers, but not members of the organization.
Both of them are major characters in the episodes in which they appear,
which have a plot involving the Watchers. This list is current as of
"Promises".

ACTOR/ACTRESS:
Those who appeared in flashback sequence have the year of the
flashback listed after their name. Those Watchers who have made both
present day and flashback appearances have the present day listed first.
Watchers who were mentioned in one or more episodes, but did not appear
in any are listed as n/a. Those who only had extremely minor roles in
the episode are listed as "not listed" because the credits for the
episode do not give their name.
APPEARANCES:
I give the title of the episode with the number in parenthesis
afterwards. The number given is based on the order the episodes aired
in the United States. For two episode storylines I list both episode
numbers if the Watcher appeared in both parts. If they only appeared in
one part, I list only the number of the half they appeared in. If a
Watcher was mentioned in an episode they did not appear in, that episode
number is listed without the title.
ACTIVE FROM:
This gives the range of years for which we can verify that they
were active members of the Watchers. They may have been Watchers before
then, but we do not have specific dates on when they joined. For those
Watchers who specifically state how long they were on an assignment, the
earliest date is calculated by subtracting those years from either the
year of the claim or the year of their assignment's death. For those
who do not, I use the year of their first appearance in the show.

I give the year a Watcher dies, retires or is thrown out as
their last active year. Watchers who appear in present day sequences,
but do not die or leave are listed as being active until "Present".
Years will be included in parathesis if there is an indication that they
may have been active before the first or after the last year listed.
Non-Watcher relatives have n/a on this line.
ASSIGNMENTS:
I put down assignments as Researchers, Historians and
Cooridinators as well. I have no idea what the distinction between a
Researcher and a Historian is. If anyone else knows, please enlighten
me. I have listed any known research or history projects. Those
Watchers for whom multiple assignments are known, I have attempted to
put them in chronological order. When available, I put the years on
each assignment in the same format as used for the "Active From" entry.
The non-Watchers included are listed as n/a.
