TheProtector has set up his own Realm webring, preferably for sites about version 3.x although all are welcome. Please, no "adult" sites, and it is not for guilds, although he may set up a ring for those in the future. This is a great way for your Realm site to get a little extra traffic, to show off what you have created, so to speak. This weekend, ToyThunder is hosting a Scavenger Hunt for the members of DKoL. Starting on Sunday, July 19th, at 5pm EST, it will run through next Saturday (the 25th). Members will receive the list of items to be found on Sunday just before the games start, so please check and make sure your email addies are up-to-date on the web pages. Making a home page doesn't have to be an intimidating or near-impossible task. If you want to make your presence known on the web but have no idea how to go about it, there are many HTML Tutorials out there you can read. I found a really good one that is easy to follow, and will take you step-by-step through your web page creation.
It contains graphics, backgrounds, and the basic how-to for you to get your page up and running. Good luck, and have fun! ...Oh, and members don't forget, your home page addy is posted in the guild pages, so if you have one and want it listed, please contact the King, Queen, or myself and we'll get it up there. *smile*

7/12/98 Bug Abusers Beware (yet again)
What's New from the Realm Team:
****** 07/11/98 @ 8:18pm ***** We were made aware of a problem with the server that allowed certain players to crash the game repeatedly. The problem had to do with a special log file that we keep to track people who use known security holes in the game. Basically, we have a bit of code on the server that verifys the profession you choose for your character on startup. If it is an illegal profession (like you would get if you hacked away) the server logs your name and ignores your character creation request. Well, the part of the code that logged the attempt had an exploitable problem that caused the server to crash under some circumstances. The problem has been fixed, but sadly we are unable to isolate the people responsible. Thanks for your patience during this problem.

The dungeon was dark and wet, as most dungeons tend to be. The brave adventurer meandered through the catacombs in search of treasure and glory. Each new step was even more treacherous than the last, and still he pressed on. At last, a light up ahead. Could this be it? Could this be where his fame was assured? A doorway loomed ahead. ****** 07/03/98 @ 9:09am ***** At 2:00am PST on 7/2/98 our ISP experienced a power failure that corrupted a great deal of data on the server. Due to technical problems, our daily backups were not complete and we have spent the last couple of days reconstructing the missing data.
Due to this problem, many of you that had converted your old 30-day account to a 12-month account may find that your account has reverted back to a 30-day account again. Don't panic. All you need to do is to visit http://www.realmserver.com/30day.html and re-convert your 30-day account.
If you have misplaced your purchased login name and password, your account will still be active for 30-days. Simply mail customerservice@realmserver.com and explain that you misplaced your information. To make the processing of lost information as smooth as possible, please include the following information in your mail:
1) The name of all characters on the account in question.
2) The first time you used the account (approximated if needed).
We will begin processing this information on Monday 7/6/98.
All magic mail has been lost due to these problems as well.
