![]() ![]() | Osutchi and Mesutchi are linkable virtual pets made by Bandai. They go through several stages before becoming adults, when they will mate. |
The icons are very similar to a Tamagotchi. You feed, play, clean, discipline, give treatment when they are sick, and turn out the lights when they go to sleep. They also have two extra icons; TMP meter that looks like a little head wearing a crown, and the Mating icon that looks like a little heart. The TMP meter has from one to four crowns. If an Osu or Mesu has 4 crowns on their meter, they will make a better baby. 1 crown would be a less than superior offspring. The second frame of the TMP icon gives the number of generations.. The day after they become adults, they will mate. Two different adult characters can breed together to produce babies that are different from either parent.
When connected, and the mating icon selected, they run around beeping. The whole mating/birth process takes about a full minute. You see the lights go out, and then come back on. They run around some more, and then the boy puffs up and the girl gives birth to two babies. One of the babies goes over to the father's screen, and they both raise one child. When you play the game, the adult will play as usual, and then you see the adult and baby get happy (or sad). When he/she eats, they eat as usual, and then you see the adult turn around and feed the baby. They eat rice and candy, and the menu changes with each generation. They play a flag game in which you have to pick the black or white alternating flags. Gameplay is much like a tamagotchi.
The Osuchi and Mesuchi parents will "leave" after a while, and the babies will be left with empty meters as if they were just born. When the parents "leave", they will stay up instead of going to sleep, and they depart at 12:05 am in most cases.
These babies grow up and mate again, producing a different baby depending on what generation and what characters mate. There is an official Bandai growthchart at the Osuchi & Mesuchi HQ, where Juniper Walters has done a great job translating the info on each character!!!
