King Jacob Pendragon (Ben Reading) is a a graduate with a Major in Biological Sciences from Southern Illinois University. He also has a Minor in Chemistry. Ben has been playing Role Playing Games since the fourth grade. Both he and Insane "Reg" Renalds have been working on the premise for DarkTown since they were in Junior High. The basic ideas and concepts of the game came about from what they imagined about their old Junior High School. These concepts were first integrated into adventures and campaigns for other already existing RPG's, such as Dungeons and Dragons, Rifts, and Call of Cthulhu. While in High School and College, Ben and Reg actually designed a game system that fit around their campaign setting. The final product was DarkTown, which is a medium fantasy game based in a modern day setting.
DarkTown is based upon survival in a world which is perched at the edge of apocalypse. The Player Characters must decide whether to follow a single faith blindly, or take it upon themselves to become self serving. The adventures are, likewise, designed to point out the short commings of blind faith and the hubris inherent in the human race. For this is the way of man, to be arrogant. And in his mad quest for power, he will lose sight, and tumble into defeat.
