Class Description:
From a time before technology crushed creativity and imagination, Bards have brought us the stories, songs, myths and legends of the ancient days. Now they bring the cries of tomorrow's youth and dreams, for the events of today will be the legends of tomorrow. Bards sing the tales of yesterday's heroes.
Through expression, Bards are able to convey a message from within. They not only tell stories, but their tales also reveal part of themselves and the workings of human nature as well. By providing a sense of belonging, history and culture, these tales allow the youth a chance to learn from the mistakes of their elders. The wisdom that Bards pass on gives us the sense of what we have done, who we are, and where we are going. Though gone, our deeds still remain.
Enamored with the past, bards are often inspired with tales of mythic times of long ago. Within this past lies the powers of magic. In the force of imagination, Mages and Bards are allied. Many wonders are made possible by this belief and Bards are the muses who are responsible for empowering it.
Even though bards are often allied with magic and Mages, this is not the only power they associate with. The tales of religion have inspired millions to undertake breathtaking projects such as the Pyramids and Ziggurats, but also the Crusades and the Inquisition. Devotion and faith can be a wonderful tool or a destructive force in the hands of a skilled Bard. Televisions, radios, and mass communication, with the ability to reach millions in a single instant, makes science a desired to instrument for bards to change and mold reality at will.
"All bards carry myths. All myths carry truths..."
