Increased Retirement Rate
Drug Abuse
After Hours
Retirement rates are up. Due to better equipment being issued, plus new intensified training in Boot Camp, prior to transfer into Standard Forces. The Commander had this to say:
"We in the command are, of course, happy that our troops are living long enough to retire. It won't be long before it's our turn..."
Unfortunately drug abuse instances are increasing. Let me take this time to reiterate the Commander's policy on drug addiction.
"Drug addiction is not tolerated. We realize that we cannot prevent all drug use, but those SHIVERs caught addicted to drugs, be it combat or recreational, will be suspended for detoxification, before reinstatement as a ground troop."
And the standard once back from detox is to have all drug access severed. This policy is, quite reasonably, not applicable to Frothers that join our ranks, due to their nature.
After hours for SHIVERs has previously been a rather dull affair. Not much to do besides watch TV, or hang out at the local dive. Until now. Several retired SHIVER squads have come up with ways to make present SHIVER duty much more pleasurable. There are now ten SHIVER only bar and grills, especially designed with today's active SHIVER in mind. Included in most are weight rooms, for keeping that intimidating figure, entertainment halls, where you can get your favorite show in 54" wide screen TV, chow halls, where you can get just about anything from burgers to imported caviar, and full service bars, where you and your mates can just relax.
Back to the front.
