A Brief History

The GOLDEN CLAWS are a band of mutant dogs and sentient canine bipeds from all throughout the many dimensions of rifts. For the main part most of the dogs are mutants created by Lonestar who have left. The group was originally formed by a Wolfen, known as Crete. He employed the services of a few Lonestar mutants for an attack on a coalition base to free his Wolfen friend, Mang - who was caught shortly after they rifted to Earth. The mission was such a success that he kept the dogs on and employed extras to go under the leadership of Mang.
They hired out their services to anyone opposed to the coalition, and their reputation grew as a fierce, yet noble mercenary group. Soon they had just over thirty men, and could afford to fully equip them with weapons, supplies and transport.
After a few years, Crete and Mang decided it was time to move on and left the mercenary group in the able hands of a doberman called, Jack. Jack was a skillful leader and as head of the third group of dogs he had shown himself as a dog "cool under pressure". Unfortunately, not long after the two Wolfen left, Jack and a few other dogs were killed by a surprise coalition attack. With the loss of their natural leaders the group was weakened considerably, and a fiery german shepard called Tham, took control. Under the leadership of Tham, the group slid rapidly into disrepair. They failed in meeting many of their contracts and losing a few more dogs to unnecessary deaths, before a second coalition attack was sprung. Fortunately all but one survived and together they fled far from coalition reach, working for the townsfolk and citizens of border towns. It was in one of these towns that Plarge came accross the rag-tag group.
Plarge and Avash had, only a few months before, employed a small mercenary group to help them with one of their missions. Plarge was pleased with the idea and looked forward to trying it again. But this time he wanted to train with the group and hone their skills as a team.
In the small town of Bruns, far from the more civilised area, Plarge and Avash stopped in for the night. In the town's only hotel Plarge started up a conversation with a fellow Lonestar runaway, a grizzled wolf called Mac. Mac spoke of the Golden Claws when they were in their hey day and talked of their rapid decline into a small group of near broken warriors. He talked of Tham and rested the blame firmly on their "so called" leader.
Before they left the next day, Plarge approached the Golden Claws, and with the help of Mac convinced them to join him and see the Golden Claws lifted to their former glory. Tham, however, was not easily convinced and attacked Plarge ferociously, but Plarge was ready and the former leader found himself left behind in Bruns, as the Golden Claws drove off.
Plarge began training his all dog group alost immediately, and before long he found his group up to twenty dogs. After a few contracts were fulfilled the Golden Claws began their steady rise towards their old reputation. Within a year, Plarge had three complete sections and a small group of non-combatants.

Who and What

The entire mercenary company consists of 34 dogs, 30 of which are broken into three sections of ten. The sections are also broken up into three different groups, the command group, the gun group and the fist group. The command part of the section is made up of two scouts and the section commander. The gun group is the fire power of the section and is made up of three dogs. The fist group is the heavy muscle of the section, and all four dogs are strong and well trained for close combat. The three sections are simply known as Alpha, Bravo and Charlie and are headed by, Plarge, Mac and a boxer called Biff, respectively. The last four dogs make up a non-combat unit, a mechanic/pilot/driver, a medic, a sig(communications expert) and a cook.
Every dog is equipped with a rifle, a pistol, 5 clips for each, armor, and personal gear. The command group have surveillance equipment, the gunners have a tripod mounted rail gun, and the fist group have extra hand to hand weapons and some are equipped with cybernetic &/or bionic limbs (some to replace missing limbs, others just for the augmentation). The group also has six mountaineer A.T.V.'s (three are mounted with rail guns), a big boss A.T.V. (with laser rifle), two hovercycles, and a sky king (without mini missiles and rail gun).
Alpha section is the lead section of The Golden Claws. This group heads the attack whenever the mercenaries operate. Along with Plarge, notable dogs are : Frash(Bloodhound, 1st scout), Druss(Rottweiler, 1st fist), Bedes(Wolfhound, 1st gun),and De Velousse(Lakeland Terrier, 2nd gun). The second section, Bravo, is a support group for The Golden Claws. They are used to secure secondary targets, and sometimes help Alpha section lead assaults and Charlie section defend. Mac leads the group, with Gus(Foxhound, 1st scout), Choedha(Wolfen, 1st gun), and Lewis(Greyhound, 2nd fist) standing out. Charlie, section mainly operates as the defensive, and rear gaurd. They are responsible for communication between the other two sections, and between the non-combat group and Alpha section. Biff, Chanx(German Shepherd, 1st gun), and Barak(Bull Terrier, 1st fist) are the strong points of Charlie section. The mechanic Eli(Wolfen), and the sig Tex(German Shepherd) are important, non combat, members of the mercenary group.
