Boomers

Due to their unique position in Neo-Angeles, and with the genius of Gillian Greaves at the helm of their R&D department, Genom Neo-Angeles has been able to advance boomer technology considerably. They even on occaision use the streets of Neo-angeles as a testing ground, and manipulate city hall into forgetting the incidents. After all, Neo-Angeles is effectively genom's to do with as they please.

Some of these designs are intended for mass-production; others have a different nature.

The AB-109B battle boomer is an american made competitor to the BU-12B, designed by Northern Armourwerks Inc. It is faster and features greater armour protection than the BU-12B, a changable forearm weapon, high-explosive demolition charges which also make great tank-busters and is frequently used for combat engineering. Its extraordinarily similarities to the BU-12B have made many theorise that the original Pincer prototypes were refitted captured or stolen BU-12Bs. In fact, it would be theoretically possible (and easy) to disguise an AB-109B as a BU-12B, or vice versa.

"The attached images and data are of a new model of combat boomer, more advanced than the BU-55C. It seems to have superior armour, and its chest heat cannon was built entirely into the chest area, supposedly to improve survivability. However, it has only been one year since the introduction of the BU-55C; to early for even Genom to be planning a replacement. Its prescence worries me..."

"In our operation at USSD regional headquarters, Freya encountered this boomer. It seems to be a variant of the one we fought three nights before. From her descriptions, it lacked the chest heat cannon, yet had a high-powered laser machinegun on each forearm. This configuration would be excellent for fighting inside a building, so it is possible that this model is designed to specialise in infiltration duties."

"Another model of combat boomer based on the same frame as the previous two we have encountered. This one was much like the first, save for two notable features: the mouth laser, being a design closer to that of the BU-C-209, and the additional sensor pack replacing one of its standard sensor 'eyes.' The change in weapons suggests to me that it was originally a testbed prototype for a new weapopns fit. If this is true, it may be that this machine will go into full production eventually. The second feature is more worrying. Given that it laid a trap for us, it is most likely that this boomer was designed to gather information on our group. Someone is gunning for us."
