Corporations of Bubblegum Crossfire

There's more to corporate America than just Genom (no matter how they may want it!) Many other coprorations compete for the spotlight, both against and cooperating with the monolithic giant.

American Armorwerks

American Armorwerks is an American established and owned military engineering company that began as a government industry working in co-oporation with the JSDF to develope the ST-01 MADOX battlesuit in the 1980s. It was sold of to public interests in the early 2010s, and has been the US armed forces main contractor for battlesuits and battlemovers, developing the Slave Trooper series of battlesuits for the US military and foreign markets. The name of the corporation has since become synonymous with the US army.

The company has also been contracted to provide battlesuits for E-SWAT teams throughout USA. They lost a lot of prestige recently when the Kyuusei Industries' GD-42 beat their design for the new US army battlemover. Northern Armorwerks has also started producing military-grade boomers; its first product, the AB-109B has proven to be a firm favourite, outclassing Genom's BU-12B, causing it to lose sales.

Biotechnica

Biotechnica is a research and developement company specialising in biological and genetics research, ranging from enhanced crops to medical research and (unnoficially) boomer components, especially brains. They were established in 2020, and have their head office in Chicago.

Genom Neo-Angeles

Due to the USA's looser arnaments laws, Genom is theoretically able to produce more boomers cheaper here than in Japan. However, due to the way the legal system works, a few small accidents (of the kind Genom loves) could wind up costing the company considerable sums, so arnaments production is just as restricted. The exception to this rule is Neo-Angeles. When the 2026 earthquake practically levelled Los Angeles, Genom footed the bill for rebuilding the city practically from the ground up under the Technologically Intergrated Economic City program they have an incredible amount of influence in that city. Neo-Angeles has both a Genom tower and an elaborately defended research facility.

One of Genom's leading researchers, Gillian Greaves, is stationed at the head of the Neo-angeles research center. They carry out extensive boomer research, producing a great number of new models and occaisionally releasing them into the city for a "test run." Using city hall and police puppets, these incidents are easily covered up. The regional Vice President of Genom Neo-Angeles is Daniel Heydt; little is known about him, other that he was an associate of Brian J. Mason.

Thor Weaponry

Thor Weaponry is a comercial engineering company specialising in military grade weapons. Rather than producing mecha or vehichles as a whole, Thor Weaponry produces only arnaments subcontracted to other corporations; one of its major clients is Northern Armorwerks. Rumors say the two companies are planning a merger. Thor is also involved in the production of small-arms and personal weapons; the appearance of some of their latest designs in gang hands had lead to rumours of criminal ties within the company.
