Neo-Angeles E-SWAT |
Much like many other cities around the globe, Neo-Angeles has adopted its own high-powered police force to fight boomers. The Neo-Angeles E-SWAT, or NA SWAT are somewhat different to their brethren in Megatokyo. They are a section of the normal police, rather than their own force, and find themselves constantly being reigned in by the normal police. They have no independant air support and minimal frontline troops, but make upo for it with an abundance of battlesuits and their own specially designed boomer.

E-SWAT is in a unique position compared to other "special" police forces. Its officers are generally better equipped and they have superior numbers of mecha, but no independant air support and very few frontline troops. The standard combat armour consists of ballistic mesh weave with additional armour plates sewn in underneath the cloth on the arms and legs. This is topped with a torso plate of turtleshell armour and a thick, sturdy helmet. The weapons are mostly custom designed for E-SWAt, and consist of the ever reliable M42A1 short machinegun (an american made weapon exported to Japan) and a special "Member" anti-boomer pistol.

A high-powered pistol, derived from the "Member" line of anti-boomer handguns. This one is maximised for damage, and serves as the standard sidearm for E-SWAT frontline officers. It is supposedly unavailable elsewhere, but the recovery of some from Yakuza enforcers has lead to questions about the suppliers, Thor Weaponry.

An advanced melee weappn, designed to cut through armour with maximum efficiency. It is supplied to E-SWAt troops for use on berserk mannequins and androids, but rarely get used as they far prefer puimping endless amounts of rifle rounds into their targets.

*Causes Stun damage to boomers against their SDP, with the same results and effects. |
E-SWAT's alternate melee weapon, designed to deliver a powerful electric shock to its target. It can be disabling to boomers, and lethal to humans. Once again, it is usually left alone in preference of the rifle.

The ST-17P is a special modification of the US Army's ST-17D battlesuit that is used by E-SWAT teams throughtout the USA. It is designed to be able to outshoot most combat boomers; the solid steel knuckle guards were added only as an afterthought, considering the close-quarters combat that all-too-frequently spelt the death of an older ST-14P operator.

The BU-58P is a cut-down combat boomer, designed for use in the local E-SWAT forces, made neccessary due to an immense lack of manpower. Its frame is based on that of a BU-55C, with the diguise function disabled. Some E-SWAT officers consider the BU-58P to be a godsend; to others it is a bad joke. Its eerie, inhuman appearance has lead to a good deal of unsettlement amongst teams assigned to work with the BU-58P.

Sergei was born the son of two executives whose work took them between Russia and the USA frequently. He attended schools in both countries, and as a result can speak both Russian and English flawlessly. His parents are still living, having now taken root in Neo-Angeles, and he has a younger sister.
He has always craved excitment in his younger life, and joined the newly founded E-SWAT for exactly that purpose. While rising through the ranks to his current post of mecha pilot, Sergei realised that the E-SWAT was far more important than he at first thought. He takes his job very seriously, and is supportive of his fellow members and chief while being strongly opposed to the inclusion of the BU-58P.
Sergei is a tall and solidly built man who speaks with a slight Russian accent. He is very stable and serious at work, while still being a touch of a daredevil. When more relaxed, he is friendly and chatty. He has had an on-and-off relationship with a good friend named Rebecca Kusumoto for years, including being occaisional lovers.

Karrina grew up in a moderate household in Sydney, Australia. Her parents and her younger sister were killed by a rampaging boomer when she was only twelve years old. She then went to live with a family friend whose job as a boomer technician brought him into contact with an illegaly recycled android that malfunctioned and killed him. She brought down the boomer with a knife before the Mobile Armoured Response Squads arrived.
Karrina was badly affected by her great losses, and saw all boomers as being responsible. She quickly joined MARS solely to destroy boomers, and fights them with viciousness and relentlessness. Her enthusiasm for the job and ruthlessness in combat saw her quickly promoted at such a young age to the position of mecha pilot. An exchange program was arranged between the Neo-Angeles E-SWAT and MARS, resulting in Karrina being posted to E-SWAT to learn their tactics and the like.
Karrina is cripplingly shy, doing anything in reason to avoid talking to new people. She is very reluctant to make friends for fear of losing them again. She has so far not been terribly popular with the E-SWAT officers she serves with, but as they figure, she doesn't have to be.

A stern and honest man, Ben White retired from US army service to serve in E-SWAT. An injury early on in his police career kept him from frontline work, but he soon found his leadership talents in need and was promoted to the position of E-SWAt chief. He is a superb leader and organiser, but somewhat moody at times.

Honest, hard-working, cute and more than just a touch annoying, Amy is just one of the many operators working at the Neo-Angeles E-SWAT headquarters. Her friednly smile and cheery demeanor garuntee her lots of friends, especially amongst the other staff. She seems to particularly enjoy tormenting Shamus, mostly because he reacts so well. She has been trying for a while to get a transfer to the piloting division; she's sure she has what it takes, but everyone else is rather skeptical.

James is one of a number of E-SWAT pilots, and pretty much fits the mould. He is hard-working, athletic and extraordinarily stubborn. A good friend of both Shamus and Sergei, he is usually the one to haul them off to bars after work. In combat it is very serious, prefering to stand back and take down boomers with precision fire above other tactics. He supports the inclusion of the BU-58P in E-SWAT, a position that may cause rifts between him and his friends in the near future.
