Play Guide

DAM

From the start kill the guy right in front of you, get his gun but don't get it out yet. Now kill the next 2 guys with your silencer then go to the top of the tower and grab the sniper. Use it to kill another 2 guys. Now pull out your KF7 and head forward killing everyone you can. Head towards the switch and press B. Once the truck has gone through after or before you, hit the other switch. Now race ahead and kill the guy on your left before he activates the alarm. Now destroy it and head through the roller doors you just pasted kill the guy in there, and then the next guy collecting his Distovi. Now turn to your right and equip the communicator thing and throw it onto the computer screen type thing. Now move onto the locked door and shoot it. Now pull your sniper back out and kill the person on the first tower. Now head there and destroy the alarm inside and sniper the next guy and do the same thing until you're on the 3rd tower. Head down after destroying the last alarm. Now here's the hardest part on 00 agent. Kill everyone you can, heading in the one direction. Once you come near a door open it and run to the left and press B at the consoles and don't worry about the timer, it's good when it runs out. Head out and to the gap in the fence back on the surface of the dam and jump off.

TIP: Destroy the crates to get extra ammo.

FACILITY

In this stage you start in a vent above the toilets. For fun, you can shoot the guy's hat off who is in the toilet next to the one the vent is above. In this stage you have to keep the scientists alive, and meet up with 006, etc. First up, once you go down the stairs, do a left U-Turn and go through the door, kill the guy behind it and get the key. Proceed to a steel door near by (back at the bottom of the stairs) and hit the switch on the other side. Then head straight out and then to your left, then left again and through the 2 steel doors, from here Dr Doak could be anywhere; (on certain difficulties) he seems to randomise where he is. When you come to a spit go left and instead of activating the console, just shoot and let the nice fellow on the other side open it. Now just go through the stage as normal and decode the door with the decoder from Doak, (only on certain difficulties), on the other side is 006 and the tanks you need to blow up. Go to 006 and start to talk with him, while that happens, put mines on the tanks (1 per 2 tanks, there are 10), and wait until they have finished talking and then blow up the tanks as soon as 006 is far enough away from them. Then go through the door down the bottom there with you. Or the side looking thing towards the left a bit more.

TIP: It's best to keep on running in this stage.

Here is another play guide to help with getting invincibility; I didn't do it myself. To down load a MOV file that shows you how to do it in under 1:25, click here to enter the site were I got it from. It is 3MB and should take around 1 hour and 20 minutes to down load.

1. Exit the airshaft and the bathroom as quickly as possible. Don't engage any soldiers.

2. As you run down the stair, switch weapons so your Remote Mines are selected. Plant one on a wooden crate outside the guardroom where the remote door console is located.

3. Turn around and head towards the door underneath the stairs. As soon as you can, press A and B together to detonate the mine.

4. Switch to the Silenced PP7, open the door, shoot the guard, and get the Clearance Key card and KF7 he'll drop.

5. Switch to the KF7, run to the guardroom (which the Remote Mine explosion cleared for you), and trigger the remote door. You'll probably get a bit more ammo for your KF7 as you do this.

6. Head for the opened remote door, and keep running all the way to the hallway. Don't waste your time on any guards; keep moving to avoid as much damage as possible, especially if you're waiting for a door to open.

7. As you run down the hallway, stick as much to the left or right as possible to let the beams absorb some of the guards' shots. Again, don't engage the guards, and keep running.

8. After you're through the set of two doors, turn left towards the lab. Here, take out any guards that are in front of you.

9. Before you reach the closed remote door, be sure to take out the guard hiding on the left. The sound from the shots will cause the guard on the other side of the door to open it.

10. Shoot that guard and head up the stairs. Switch your weapon to the Remote Mines.

11. Run down the passage and dodge to avoid as many shots as possible. Don't engage the guards. At the corner with the three rooms, look for Dr. Doak.

Very Important Note: Dr. Doak's placement in this level is random. If he is not here, you will need to restart the level. You might have to do this many, many times.

12. As soon as Dr. Doak begins speaking to you, run towards the bottling room -- you don't need to stay with him. The Door Decoder will appear in your inventory automatically.

13. At the last turn before the bottling room, plant a Remote Mine next to the last set of guards.

14. Run past the guards, and set off the mine (press A and B) as you approach the door. Go to your inventory screen and use the Door Decoder to open the door.

15. Switch to your Remote Mines (you should have 3) and run down by the tanks. 006 will start talking to you.

16. Stand away from the tanks, and throw a mine between the first four tanks. Detonate it (A and B) in mid-air. You can avoid hurting 006 by tossing the mines high enough.

17. Move down to the next set of four undamaged tanks and repeat.

18. Move down to the last two tanks and repeat.

19. Open the door and exit the level.

TOP

RUN WAY

This is the easiest level of them all. At the start, if you want timed mines. Turn around and some where there should be a square arch. Kill the guy there and the mines are in the brown ammo box. Now go back and go out one of the roller doors and head into the building on the left. Get a grenade ready to through in about the time you’re a few metres away from the door and don't throw it until your in, the baddies should be behind you and to your right. Once they are dead, go in and find the key. Now head out to the tank on the far side (on the right if you are facing the same way as you start). Now destroy the drone get it with your tank missiles or timed mines. On one of the roofs, there is a weird shape (on your right), you need to destroy this too. Now get the last 2 drones at the end of the runway and go back in the plane.

TIP: You can shoot the drones while your still moving, there are 2 ways, one using the C buttons and the other using R (but when you begin to hold R make sure your moving, otherwise you won't move). The tank should move by it's self if you use the second way.

SURFACE A

You can pretty easily get lost in this stage. Start off following the path until you get to the first pair of cabins. Kill the guys near the one on the right quickly and then go up to the one on your left. This is where the key is, but you need another key to get in. Mark it by shooting it so you know which one it is for later on. Now back to the one on your right. Go up onto the snow on the left of it and head straight for the next cabin; go past it and to the next one. This should be what you're looking for. Go in and kill the 2 guys in there, and get "the big key" and go back the way you came and into the one you marked. Get the key off the desk and leave. Now follow the path again until you see a big satellite, head towards it. Once you are inside head up the stairs and find the computer that's behind a door. DO NOT shoot it; press B (you shoot it in Surface B). Now head back out and do a U - turn to your left and follow the wall on the right. You should see 2 cabins and a fence around them. In one of them is the safe with the documents in it. Now, just for fun, you can keep heading inwards past the 2 cabins until you come to another 2. In one is a model car and motor bike. Shoot one and move away, for it will fill the room with fire. Now head out and follow the wall on your left (the same wall you followed before) and go straight past the dish and keep going. You should see a thing that looks like a high swimming pool, go up on it and shoot the locks on the top and fall through the hole.

TIP: Don't get lost!!!

TOP

BUNKER A

Start off by killing the guys on the other side of the door. Shoot the alarm. Look through the window and shoot the camera then it's facing you. Now head back the way you came and through the weird doors, destroy the next camera. Now go out the door then to the left, there is a camera near there. Now turn back around and head back past the door you just came out and to another door on your left, go in and kill these guys; DO NOT shoot the main frames! Now leave and down the stairs to your left and get the golden eye key then get Boris to take you to the main frames, let him do all his stuff and when the alarm is set off, go to the data thief and press Z at the main frames. Now get your weapon back out and go down the stairs again, now go to the key analyser and press Z and then Z again to through the key back. Now take a picture of the big screen in there and take out the camera up near one of the small sets of stairs behind some glass. If you haven't got all the cameras, go through and get them, if you do, go through the glassy type door and all the way to freedom.

TIP: Take out the cameras when they are facing you and they blow up with one shot, but you could get court so it's up to you if you try it.

SILO

This stage can get pretty tricky. There are four fuel rooms where most things take place. Place one of those bomb things in each of the fuel rooms, on the red/pink walls on the right somewhere. You'll need the Circuit boards and Key cards from the first three rooms. And I think just the Circuit board in the fourth one. In the first fuel room the Circuit board and Key card are on a computer in the top left corner. The second and third ones you need to make a scientist drop it by making them put their hands up or shooting them. The DAT is in the third fuel room, in the bottom right corner. The satellite which you need to take a photo of is in the fourth fuel room.

TIP: Don't stop running and don't let the crazy idiots destroy anything like the satellite.

FRIGITE

In this stage, saving the hostages is the hardest objective. Start off by going over to the opposite side of the ship to where you start. Go up the stairs leading to the bridge and run up to the guy holding the hostage, hostage. You should have time to get close to him so you don't risk shooting the hostage. Kill the other guys. Now go to the bomb and defuse it using the bomb-diffuser and press Z, not B! Now proceed through one of the two doors in the same room. I take the right door. Follow the ship in the same kind of direction and you'll come across a longish hall with a guy and a door to his right, kill him and enter the door and save the hostage a quickly as you can and then turn 45o right and save the other hostage. Now follow the hostage that heads off out another door. Eventually you will come to another hostage, save him and near by, there is another one. Once you have saved them. Head for the engine room at the back of the ship. Enter by the door on the right and defuse the bomb straight ahead. Now go back a bit and go on the kind of path thing-y to the left (where a baddy was/is). Now, still facing the same way as you came in. Duck and aim at the guy holding someone hostage. Now turn around and go out the door and up the stars, follow the hall down to the end of the ship and open the roller door. Now when you're at the helicopter throw the tracking bug onto it. Now head back to the front of the ship and back into the little boat you started in.

TIP: Don't press B at the bombs. You don't have to save all of the hostages so don't quit if one dies, only quit if it say you have failed. Use the gun you start with for the whole stage so that they all don't hear you.

TOP

SURFACE B

Bond's back in the snow, except this time, it's night. Once again, you'll have to find a cabin with a key. It is in fact, the same one as in the first Surface (3rd cabin on the right) if you can't remember, read the 1st Surface play guide. Once you have that key and destroyed the camera out side, go to the big satellite dish and go to the computer. Now you can have fun and blow it up. Somewhere on the wall against the stairs is another camera, get it to. Now head to the two cabins surrounded by a fence (once out the door, do a left U-Turn and follow the wall on the right) There is a camera on the far side of one of them, now go out of the fence and continue down further. Destroy the camera and then leave. Once you are back at the dish, keep going, but the exit in the 1st Surface is different to the 2nd Surface. Keep going past that swimming pool type thing and eventually you will come to a helicopter; blow it up with the remote mine. If you blow it up manually, you will get two blasts (I mean that it will blow up when you detonate it, and then again when the timer runs out!). Now exit through the door to enter the Bunker.

TIP: Don't let the cameras see you. Don't stay to close to the helicopter when the timer runs out.

BUNKER B

Compare staff / casualty lists: select watch magnet attract from the watch and press Z to get the key from the wall. Crouch and open the door, slap the guard. Exit the cells and head for the door stright ahead. It's locked so either shoot it so a guard opens it from the other side, or get the keycard off one of the patrolling guards. Go through the door straight ahead and through the next into a large room. Kill all the guards and one of them will drop a red folder. Get it then go back to the cell. Turn around and take the first left. Go forward, up the stairs and turn right, then go through the door on the right. Get the document from the table. Recover CCTV tape: exit the room with the document and go through the door on the right (again it's locked, so shoot it if you don't have the keycard). Go right, through the next door on the right, but watch out for the camera. Go through the two single doors (watch out for the high-up camera in-between them) and get the tape of the table. Disable all security cameras: there are six in total. Exit the cells and go through the door straight ahead. Turn left and the first camera is at the end of the corridor. Go left up the stairs, take the double-door on the left and go through the single door. Look up and there's the camera. Go through the next single door, the third camera is in here. Exit the room through the double-doors and enter the computer room opposite. The camera is on the left wall. Exit and turn left - there's a camera straight ahead. Go forward and down the steps into the main control room. The final camera is at the other end of the room, through the glass. Recover Goldeneye ops manual: this is in a safe in the room straight ahead on the left after you exit the cells. It's locked however, and the key can be got from the guard in the computer room (the room with the six mainframes and camera). Along with the manual, there are two silenced PP7s in the safe. They should help you keep quiet. Escape with Natalya: when you kill the guard in the cells, get the key to Natalya's cell but don't open it yet. Instead, complete all the other objectives and kill all the guards in the level (if you've been careful with the cameras there won't be infinite enemies), THEN, return to the cell to free her so she doesn't get caught in any cross-fire. Go with her to the control room, through the glass doors and out the bunker.

TOP

STATUE

Contact Valentin: he can be found in a red trailer about half-way through the level. Don't leave until he's finished speaking. Confront and unmask Janus: further along from where you met Valentin is a gap in the fence. Go through and hug the right-hand fence until you get to the statue of Lenin. Wait here and Janus will turn up, make sure you're unarmed or else he'll order his men to open fire. During the conversation you'll discover that Alec Trevelyan is Janus. Locate helicopter: after meeting Janus you'll have three minutes to reach the helicopter before it explodes. It's back at the start of the level. Rescue Natalya: she's on the ground next to the chopper. Walk up to her and then walk away and she'll follow. Find flight recorder: after the chopper blows the flight recorder will be thrown somewhere amongst the first load of junk, just before the red archway made of letters. It's orange, by the way. When you get back, Natalya will be prisoner to some Russians. Just do as you are told and walk through the gates.

ARCHIVES

Escape from interrogation room: either pick up the gun and clip off the table and shoot the guards or else slap them. The right guard will drop the door key necessary to exit the room. Find Natalya: she is being held by two guards in a small room on the second floor. Recover helicopter black box: Mishkin can be found on the first floor in a small room with lots of boxes. Once he's finished talking he'll give you the safe key which you should use on the safe in the corner of the room. Inside is the flight recorder. Escape with Natalya: after finding Natalya, shoot out one of the large windows on the first or second floor and walk through to escape. Note: if you shoot your gun around her she'll probably run off to one of two places - the upstairs attic, or a room with three guards on the second floor. Find her again and then escape.

TOP

STREETS

Contact Valentin: go out on to the streets and turn left down an alley. Keep going until you reach the only house you can enter on the left. Inside is Valentin who will have a conversation with you and then run off. Don't shoot him! Pursue Ouromov and Natalya: get into the tank, go out down the street and turn right. From here take every left turn available to reach the end. Watch out for the rocket blokes and mines -- shoot both if necessary. Minimize civilian casualties: the civilians are the ones in red. Don't shoot or run over too many; you'll get an on-screen warning when you're about to go over the limit.

TOP

DEPOT

Destroy illegal arms cache: go forward and right, then round to the left and through the gate. Go straight ahead and then turn right. Go into the second hanger on the right. Destroy all the boxes on the floor and the two tables -- there's a rocket launcher in here that'll do the job nicely. Destroy computer network: find the building with BX011 on it and go in. Inside destroy the drone gun, the two mainframes and the large video screen. The best way to do this is to use the rocket launcher from the arms cache building. Obtain safe key: this is on the far left table in the BX011 building. Recover helicopter blueprints: these are in the safe on the upstairs of the large building by the railway track. You will need to crouch to open the safe. Locate Trevelyan's train: go to the large building by the railway track (the one with the safe). Go upstairs, through the door, down and through the middle hanger door. Open the train door and hop aboard. You can kill the guards first if you like.

TOP

TRAIN

Destroy brake units: there are six of these in total. They're low-down and white with red and yellow wires coming out of the bottom. Rescue Natalya: After destroying the brake boxes, two guards will come and try and kill you. Murder them and one will drop the key to the last carriage. In the last carriage you will find Ouromov holding Natalya hostage. Kill him. Locate Janus secret base: Natalya will do this while you are hard at work on the floor with the watch laser. Crack Boris password: After you shoot Ouromov, quickly shoot Xenia before the shutters come down. This will give you more time, allowing Natalya to crack the password before legging it sharpish down the hole. Escape to safety: after rescuing Natalya in the last carriage, turn your attentions to the floor panel in the corner of the room. Select watch laser and fire it at the black clips around the panel. Once they are all off, the panel will fall allowing you to drop down through the hole. Remember to wait for Natalya to finish on the computer. Turn left and shoot the three gits before they kill Natalya. Turn around and leg it to the end of the track.

TOP

JUNGLE

Destroy drone guns: use the AR33's zoom to take them out from as far away as possible. There are seven in total: three before the bridge, one to the left just after the bridge, one in the cave, another up the ladder, and the last one is slightly further on. Eliminate Xenia: crossing the bridge will trigger her arrival. Just retreat to the start of the bridge, zoom in and shoot her in the head repeatedly as she comes towards you. Watch out for her grenade launcher. Blow up ammo dump: shoot all the boxes on the ground by the last two drone guns. Escort Natalya to Janus base: after completing the other objectives, simply walk into the lift at the end of the level. Don't worry if Natalya isn't with you -- she will be in the cut-scene. Watch out for the grenade-lobbing blokes at the end of the level as you don't want her being blown us now, do you?

TOP

CONTROL

Protect Natalya: exit the lift, destroy the three drone guns and all the blokes, then go back to the lift and get Natalya. When you get to the main control room, destroy all the tables apart from the middle one nearest the screen; this will make it easier to protect her when she re-directs the satellite. Go throught the door on the second floor and meet her. Follow her down into the room. When the alarm goes off, have your back to the glass and face her. Turn left and right, taking out all the guards who come. Watch out for the sneaky ones who smash the far left and right glass on the ground floor. When she's done, she'll head off back to the lift and the objective will be complete. Disable Goldeneye satellite: Natalya does this in the main control room while you're protecting her. Destroy armoured mainframes: there are six in total. Four in the main control room (2 on ground floor, 2 on second floor), one through the door opposite the one you enter the control room through, and the last is through the locked door on the right in the control room (this is unlocked after Natalya re-directs the satellite). Use remote mines to destroy them.

TOP

CAVERNS

Destroy inlet pump controls: go along until you see steps going down to the left. Go down and destroy the two consoles (make sure the scientists aren't too close), then go through the passage and destroy the two consoles here. Destroy outlet pump controls: blow up the three consoles in the large room with the drone gun. Destroy master control console: shoot the console in the large room with the radio (after using the radio!) next to the barrels. The resulting explosion is quite potent, so watch out. Use radio to contact Jack Wade: the radio is in the large room next to loads of barrels. The best method is to run straight over to it and press B. THEN shoot all the guards, as one of them has a habit of throwing grenades. Besides, you might hit the barrels if you try and shoot the guards by the radio. Minimize scientist casualties: don't allow more than two scientists to die.

TOP

CRADLE

Destroy control console: the console is in the left-hand shed as you come down the stairs. Shoot the two drone guns first, then the console. Settle the score with Trevelyan: don't bother shooting him while he's running. Wait for him to stop and shoot at you. A successful hit on him will ellicit a comment. After 4 to 8 (depending on difficulty and where you hit him) comments he'll say "Finish the job." At this point you should follow him down to the shed on the lowest part of the cradle. Fall down the hole backwards, at the bottom shoot him for the last time.

TOP

AZTEC

Reprogram shuttle guidance: kill the blokes to your left and right, then go through the hidden door on the opposite wall. Go across to the other side of this room and through another hidden door into a high-tech room. The open the far left mainframe by operating a control console in the next alcove (or shoot it until a guard opens it from the other side) then go through. Follow the corridor around into the room underneath the shuttle. Shoot the left console then go through the grille behind it. Follow the passage around to the left, destroying two drone guns, then go through the grille into a large room. Destroy the four drone guns then climb the ladder and press B on the console to close the exhaust bay doors. Go down and through the grille opposite where you came in. Go down two flights of stairs, through a gap into a large room where you'll see Jaws. Shoot him loads to kill him, then grab his smart card. Go all the way back to the high-tech room and press B on the glass pane. Use the guidance data (select from watch) on the disk drives on the left table (press Z). Launch shuttle: get the DAT off the right table in the high-tec room then go all the way back to the shuttle room. Select launch protocol data from watch and use it on the right-hand mainframe (press Z). Climb the ladder, press B on the console to open the exhaust bay doors and wait for the shuttle to lift off.

EGYPTIAN

Recover the golden gun: move forward, hugging the right wall, go through into the next chamber. Go through the opening in the right wall. Go up the stairs and left into the golden gun chamber. The floor is made up of tiles, step on the first one then follow this pattern: left two, forward two, right three, forward two, left one, forward one, left one, forward two, right two. The glass will lower, so pick up the golden gun and bullets. Defeat Baron Samedi?: exit the golden gun chamber through the other hidden door, go through and drop down into a very large double chamber. Go to the other end and you'll meet Baron Samedi. Shoot him with the golden gun to kill him for the first time. Go all the way back to the start room with the mirrored floor to find the Baron again. Shoot him with the golden gun and the level will darken. Go back to the staircase leading to the golden gun chamber. Turn right and go down the passage, down a flight of stairs, through another room with a mirrored floor, up two flights of stairs and into a room with an obelisk in the middle and the Baron in the corner. Shoot him three times with the golden gun to kill him for the last time.
