Ahh... fusion. One of the most fun things to do in Azure Dreams. Basically, monsters consists of abilities, spells, and talents. A spell is a magic offense and defense that can be used by any monster. Appearance abilities are moves that can be done only by that specific monster (for example, Trolls are the only weapon-users and Manoeva are the only ones that split and transform). Talents are special abilities that can be used by any monster through fusing (like Kraken's electric shock). Monsters can only have up to 2 spells and talents (to have 2 talents, you must fuse two monsters with their natural abiltiy. For example, if you fuse Kraken and Block, you get Hard and Electric Shock; but if you fuse a Kraken and a Zu with Hard from Block, you'll only end up with Electric Shock). Now about spells. Some monsters have spells right when they are hatched, some don't. Those that don't actually have hidden spells, even some that you won't just see in the tower (like Barong's Poison). To get these spells, you must fuse two monsters without any spells on them. The one that takes over is able to release its special spell. The monster that takes over is either: the one with a Leva Fruit (you can't fuse two Levad monsters or a Levad monster and Kewne!), the one with a higher level, or if they both have the same amount of EXP the one with more MP takes over or if the same EXP and MP, the one with the red collar. Fuse monsters to get more powerful enemies. If you want a monster, that starts of without a spell, to gain two spells and gain a good talent follow this. Let's say you like your Pulunpa and want to give it more power by releasing it's power and giving it another and then a special talent. Get your Pulunpa and another spare (crappy) monster who has the same or lower amount of EXP (with the same or weaker element, in this case fire or water).
Get two other monsters (one with a good hidden spell and one who is crap, easy to find, and is best used for fusing, like Blume). Now get a monster with a good talent (Kraken, Arachne, etc.). Go to the tower, first fuse the Pulunpa and the useless crap making the Pulunpa take over, then put the Pulunpa back in. Now take out the monster with the good hidden spell and the other crap, fuse them making the first monster take over (he should get a new ability). Now, fuse the Pulunpa and the good monster making the Pulunpa take over, then fuse the Pulunpa with the talented monster to get 2 abilities and a talent. Note: Growing spells have a background (alos another way: Fire spells have no prefix, wind spells have the prefix Lo, and water spells have the prefix De). Here are some things that will help you:
