The whole group are standing in front of Gennai, Gennai has once again appeared to them in his holographic form. They are all talking about the eight digidestined. Gennai tells the kids not to worry, he tells them to go to his house.
Gennai says, "Follow the yellow light and it will lead you to my home". So Gennai dissappears.
Tai,Matt,Izzy,Joe,Tk,Sora and Mimi and their digimon start walking toward the yellow light. When they get there,they see that the yellow light is in the lake.The next thing you see is Gomamon in the river.
Gomamon says, "come on and take a swim!"
It then flashes to Mimi and she says, "No, I don't want to I need to take care of my hat!" Stairs appear in the middle of the water and the group walks on in. They don't get wet, cause it's a clear tunnel leading to Gennai's house. They walk to the bottom of the lake, they peer all around them, fishes and other sea animals are swimming. It's like they are walking through a clear underwater tunnel. When they get to the end of the stairs they see a house.
They go in. Gennai's house is very nice, it's a Japanese house with a Japanese Garden and bridge. Gennai is on the miniture bridge. They see Gennai's back. Gennai explains that they are thedigidestined.
Then Mimi shouts out and says, "WHY DO YOU KEEP ON SAYING WE ARE THE DIGIDESTINED?"
Gennai replies,"because you are". Gennai explains what the group already figured out. That both their worlds are linked together, any disturbance can trigger some event in the other world. Tai asks him, how do they reach the eighth digi-destined. Gennai explains that they need to open the gate with a special key.
Gennai also mentions to the whole group, "that I will show you the proper order of the cards tommorow".
When midnight hits the whole group is at sleep execept Izzy. Izzy is talking to Gennai, he is still curious about the Digi World. Gennai tries his best to answer the questions. Izzy asks if Gennai is a digimon. Gennai explains that he is. That he "lacks certain attributes". Izzy figures out that Gennai can't attack or digivolve the same way as other Digimon. Izzy nods in understandment. Gennai also explains that a digimon could be classified as virus, a data or vaccine .
Gennai asks Izzy, "Did you use the computer program I gave you?"
"Yes. How come I could only see the digimon I saw?" Izzy asks.
Gennai speaks up and replies, "I don't know. I'll try to fix that problem. You should go to sleep" (the group is not with Izzy.)
Izzy nods, "ok."
Izzy gives Gennai his computer.
The sun's light rays shine in through the water. The whole group is awake and they are eating fish. Mimi looks out the window and see fishes in the air! Joe pigs out on the fish. The group all tease him, "Why not eat the whole thing Joe!" Sora jokes.
Gennai comes out and says good morning to everyone. He then directs their attention to the wall. A screen (very much like an overhead projector) comes down. He holds a pointer and a picture of Japan shows up. It then zooms closer to country and then town. He asks if these look familiar.
"It's our hometown!" Tai says.
A red circle appears on the map just a few inches away from the group's hometown and Gennai points out that is where Myotismon is. The kids all gasp. They ask him how they can go back to Earth. He takes them to a room and brings out ten cards. Each card has a Digimon as the pictures. There's Agumon, Gomamon, Shogungekomon, Centauromon, Leomon etc. Gennai explains that those are the keys to open the gate. The kids don't understand. He explains furthur. In front of the gate, there is a table that is where the cards go. But there is only nine spots to put the cards in. One of the cards is fake. That is all the explaining Gennai gives, he says to the group to believe in their power and find the fake card. The kids understand somewhat but aren't sure which card is fake.
Tai says that they'll just try all of them until they get the right one.
Gennai's eyes pop open! And he grabs Tai and stresses the importance that they MUST get the RIGHT order. Or they might end up in a place…."that human skin will turn to digimon skin and digimon skin will turn to human skin!" Or worse.
Mimi screams. She just had a thought about having Palmon's skin and Palmon having human skin. Mimi shouts out saying "I WANT MY SKIN!!!!!!!!!, ILIKE MY SKIN!!" Palmon seems disappointed.
Gennai says, "Only if you make a mistake. When you get to the castle i can no longer help you." Gennai hands Izzy his computer back. Gennai points to a plug-in spot. He explains that each kid just puts their digi-vice in the computer plug-in and all the digimon that they saw will load on to the computer. The kids head out to Myotismon's castle with renewed hope in finding the eighth digi-destined.
They're at Myotismon's castle and peek in through the front gate. A couple of Demidramon are guarding the way to the gate.Tentomon saids "Go in and I will distract the Demidramon". Tentomon Digivolve to........................... Kabuterimon! Kabuterimon digivolve to.................................................. Megakabuterimon!!!!!!!!!!!! The Demidramon see Tai,Matt,Izzy,Tk,Joe,Mimi,Sora all going to the other room where the Gateway door is. While the whole group is running MegaKabuterimon is fighting the Demidramon. Megakabuterimon destroys them by using his Horn Buster.
The group are leaded to a long stairway. The next thing you see is that a Montimon is flying toward Izzy. Izzy catches Motimon and runs.When the stairs finally end there's a door.The group opens it and see the gate door.
When they see the key opener the group can't decide what to do with the cards. They start to tell Tai to do it. Matt reminds him that when he was gone, the whole group fell apart. Mimi whines and says she wants to go home but then stops and remembers she must be sincere. (WAY TO GO MIMI! KEEP IT UP!)
Tai looks at the group and has a pleasant look on his face. He goes up and turns around and say that if they truly trust him will they go along with whatever decision he makes. They all nod. "Then Izzy should do it"
"Your the type of guy that should do it" Sora says.
"You really thing so?" Izzy ask.
The group all agree. Izzy tunes into his computer to find enough information he can. He would rather hook up to the internet to book them a flight out of there, but this will have to do. He looks at the cards. Then he looks at the key holder. Pictures are drawn into it. He recognizes them as the constellations. There are nine spaces, on the top three headings are the picture of the lion, the archer and the monkey. Going down the left row were stars. Top left hand corner is one star, below it two stars and on the bottom three stars. Izzy can't figure out what those things mean. Then he has it! He asks if anyone seen Shogungekomon, Joe has and he puts his digi-vice in the computer.
Izzy types up Etemon, Centaurmon and Leomon. The Monkey, Archer and the Lion
He figured it out! Virus, Vaccine and Data!
Next is the stars, Rookie, Champion and Ultimate. Izzy inserts all the cards. This only leaves Gomamon and Agumon in the top left hand corner of the key holder. He tells the group this.
Everyone's impressed. They all applaud. Izzy blushes.
The ground starts to tremble. Patamon saids "I'll go look to see what is happening", he flys off. He returns and says its falling! The castle is falling! With only one card left, Izzy says Tai should do it. Tai looks at the cards, which one is the fake?
A giant spider like Digimon drops in on the group. Dokugumon! They fight the whole group! Dokugumon sends some of her spider digimon to attack the group. A couple of the spider digimon head straight towards Sora. Yokomon sees this and scrunches her face up. "Yokomon digivolve to………. Biyomon!!!
Gomamon digivolve to…………. Ikkakumon!!!!!
Gabumon digivolve to……..WereGarurumon!!!
"Palmon digivolve to Togemon!!!!"
Dokugumon sprays them with her webbing. The Digimon all get caught in it. Then she sprays poison at them.
"Ah, Garurumon," Matt cries out to see his friend hurt.
"Digivolve again!" Sora calls out.
"Garurumon digivolve to………WereGarurumon!"
WereGarurumon breaks all the webbing with his Mega Claw and bear hugs Dokugumon, restraining her.
Tai can't figure out which one is the fake. The castle trembles again, the castle is just barely holding on. Its either Agumon or Gomamon. He quickly makes a choice and picks Gomamon! The gate opens and he tells everyone to jump in.
The only one left is Matt, he doesn't leave. He won't leave his friend with that monster. WereGarurumon slashes at Dokugumon "MEGA CLAW!" Dokugumon is destroyed and Matt runs towards the now closing gate with Tsunomon in his arms. He dives and just makes it in time.
All the kids fall through the blue-ish waves. When they open their eyes their back at camp. The snow is just starting to melt. They can't find their digimon! Maybe it was the wrong card after all.
"You can't get rid of us that easily."
The kids turn their heads and see their beloved Digimon. The Digimon explain that they were looking for food and they each hold out a pile of grass and shrubs to eat. The kids laugh.
Somewhere in Japan, a pair of traffic light maintenancers are fixing a broken traffic light. Above them on a bridge, numerous pairs of red eyes glow……….
