The group walks through the desert, they keep on walk until Etemon can't find them, though they are hoping for this.
"We can't stop now, for one thing we have no where to hide or run to," Matt says.
'This is bad, everyone's become so timid and afraid," Sora thinks to herself.
Tai seems to notice this too. He explains to the group that they have the crests and they have nothing to fear. But the group disagrees, they don't know how to use the crest and if it can even help Agumon digi-volve. Tai looks at Agumon and warns him to digi-volve to the next level or he's getting a new Digimon. Agumon feels guilty and doubts himself. "By the way, how are we going to use the crests to digi-volve anyway?" Tai asks.
Izzy explains his theory about digi-volving. The Digimon must have lots of energy and the other partner must be in danger, he explains, as he observed from other digi-volutions. Tai's own theory is that even more energy must be needed. "So we'll provide the food and Etemon will provide the danger," Tai says.
A Monochromon pulling a trailer crosses the desert. Inside Etemon is planning his attack. "You better watch out, you Digi-Destined kids. I find you, and you'll wish you never crossed Etemon!"
The group found a place to rest, but where is Tai and Agumon? They are spaced furthur away from the group, Tai is literally stuffing Agumon with food; which he took away from the group. Agumon seems to have had enough, but Tai keeps on pushing him to eat more. But Tai explains that Etemon is out there and can attack anytime. "See that's why you gotta try your best to protect everybody; keep eating!" Tai orders.
"Tai's really pushing him," Sora observes.
"I don't think Agumon can take much more of this," Biyomon says.
"Tai's personality has taken a turn for the worst lately. I remember him being friendlier even to us younger kids," Izzy explains.
"He was cool in soccer camp," Sora says, remembering the time they were on the same team. A flashback develops....."Tai pass it to me! I'm open!"
"Now's my chance to shoot," Tai says, mostly to himself then to anyone. A defender comes up and starts to push Tai off to one side with his shoulders, like a body check. Tai manages to push back, and stay balanced. Another attacker starts to do a slide check at Tai. Tai is caught by surprise, he manages to kick the ball high to the air. The ball reaches Sora and she heads the ball and into the goal.
"Nice pass Tai, I thought you were going to take the shot yourself," Sora says to Tai, as she helps him up.
"Remember there's no I in TEAM!" Tai says, laughing.
"We're the only ones who can help now, so eat up!" Tai says. Agumon stuffs another apple into his mouth. He finishes it and falls on his back, his belly is bulged. Agumon just can't eat any more.
Above the group is witnessing all of this. They proposed a conclusion. Tai's personality changed ever since he got the crest of courage. Joe notices something, his tag...it's glowing.
"It must be reacting to something," Matt says. They all stand up and look around. Joe sees a big building some distance away. He runs toward it, but trips on a black cable.
In Etemon's trailer, a red blinking light appears on his monitor. He tracked the kids. "The intruder is in the L7 sector," Etemon explains that it's near the coliseum. "They'll have the perfect seats for the show I've planned for them, HA!" Etemon phones the Gazimon on guard in the L7 Sector. The Gazimon wakes up from his tanning in the sun. Etemon orders the Gazimon to welcome the guests.
An ancient colieseum is in front of the group, they walk in. "Amazing! It looks like the Roman Colieseum!" Izzy says.
"What's the Roman Colieseum?" Tentomon asks.
"It's an ancient arena," Tai explains.
"The Ancient one didn't have big screens," Mimi explains.
"Or soccer goals," Sora points out, in the middle of the colieseum is a soccer field. They decide to split up. Agumon raise his leg to take a step but then falls on his back. He can't move, he needs a rest.
"Come on, you can do it!" Tai says.
"Give him a rest Tai," Joe says. He is the only one with a clue to the tag. He and Gomamon will look around. They walk off, Tai follows them.
Sora sees a soccer ball, "Anyone up for a game?" Sora asks.
"Yeah, that's a great idea. The human team against the Digimon team," Matt suggests.
"What on earth is soccer?" Tentomon asks. The group explains that they have to use their feet to kick the ball in the goal.
Gabumon puts the ball in front of him and winds up and kicks it, "Here we go!" The ball sails straight at Biyomon. Poor Biyomon doesn't even have time dodge and gets hit by the ball straight in the head. The ball bounces off of her head and Palmon catches it with her hands. "Now that's using your head," Palmon teases. She throws the ball back to the group. Tai comes and boots the ball out of the arena.
"I can't believe your playing soccer at a time like this!" Tai outraged says. He scold the group for playing. Joe walks over near the goal post, and he gets a strong signal from his tag.
The image of a pair of hands start to clap on the big screen TV on top of the arena. It's Etemon. The kids run towards the goal. Agumon runs too, but he trips. Tai makes it to the post but starts to run back, but he doesn't make. The goal post and net covers the kids and their Digimon like a cage. The net is electrified, as Tentomon finds out.
Etemon sends Scar Greymon, an evil version of Greymon. "It's a different Greymon!" Tai exclaims. He tells Agumon to digi-volve. "Agumon digi-volve to...GREYMON! The two Greymon battle each other. The kids all cheer for Greymon. But Scar Greymon seems to be over powering Greymon. Scar Greymon throws 
Greymon into the electrified cage. Scar Greymon is bashing Greymon pretty hard. The kids notice that Greymon is much slower. The crest isn't working. Tai tells Greymon to digi-volve. Could it be he had too much to eat? Tai tells Greymon to believe in his power. Greymon manages to push Scar Greymon away.
"NOVA BLA....*BURP!!!*" Greymon can't attack with hiss Nova Blast. Tai fed Agumon too much, and his reflexes are much sluggish.
"Get up and fight!" Tai coaches Greymon.
Scar Greymon shoves Greymon down. Etemon notices, he has the winning advantage. "Over sooner than I thought," Etemon says. He tells the Gazimon on guard to prepare the fireworks. The Gazimon lights up the fireworks. "MUNCHING FISHES!" Gomamon orders, water spurts out of a statues mouth and half a dozen fish come out. It's used to buy Greymon time. The fishes all fly to the Gazimon's fireworks, they each take one of the spurting candles and poke Scar Greymon with it. Scar Greymon swaps them away, the fish fly away.
"Thank you fish!" Sora thanks. How will they get out? They see the stones below them. They lift one up and decide to dig a tunnel out.
"This rock is in the way," Tentomon says. Joe sees it and sees something else than a rock. He sees his crest! Joe holds his tag to it and the rock shrinks and inserts itself in Joe's tag. The group fall into the hole and land just a few meters down. They see a tunnel, they have a way out.
Everyone's out, they all see Greymon doing badly. "You can win if only you will digi-volve!" Tai scolds. Tai decides to go out there and make Greymon digi-volve, Sora tries to stop him. "Please mind your own business Sora!" Tai is deliberately getting himself in trouble so that Greymon can digi-volve. Tai runs out towards Scar Greymon and throws a rock at him, "STOP!"
"Start singing your final number," Etemon says to Tai. Biymon and Garurumon digi-volve to help Tai out. But before they can go, Tai's crest and digi-vice glows. A 3D view of the crest and digi-vice is shown. Light shines out of the digi-vice and through the tag. The screen appears to be orange. A dark cloud hovers above Greymon and unleashes fiery lights at him. Greymon glows and grows bigger, until he's SkullGraymon.
"Oh my is that what I think it is?" Tentomon says, with fear in his voice.
"What do you call that thing?!" Sora asks. It is SkullGraymon, he makes digimon tremble. Since he is huge he is always in search for battles. He has a surge of power.
Tai sees this horrible looking monster, a huge dinosaur skeleton with internal organs. "This is Greymon's digi-volved form?" Tai looks on as SkullGraymon defeats Scar Greymon with a swipe of his hand. Scar Greymon is sent flying into the big screen tv. SkullGraymon fires his missle at the screen and it explodes. SkullGraymon turns around and starts attacking the group! Birdramon and Garurumon attack, hoping to stop him. Tai tries to reason with him but SkullGraymon chases after him, destroying the soccer nets. Nobody can go near him, not even Kabuterimon. SkullGraymon is destroying everything in sight, even Etemon's Network. Everyone's attacks don't work. SkullGraymon walks out of the colieseum and into the desert. The group lost sight of him, they see black smoke arise where SkullGraymon is. Everyone runs out and see that SkullGraymon is running out of energy.
He's now Koromon! "Are you alright?"
"Yes, but I've done some terrible horrible things!" Koromon cries. "I savagely attacked my fellow Digimon," Koromon is ashamed of his actions. But everyone understands. "I'm really sorry I didn't live up to your expectations Tai," Koromon says, blaming himself.
"It's my fault, right Sora?" Tai says. He realizes he pushed Agumon too far and he shouldn't of made him digi-volve.
"Yeah...I mean..."
Tai understands and realizes he kept pushing Agumon. He felt that he had to because of the crest. He was the only one with the crest and everyone's safety depended on Agumon digi-volving. He apologizes to everyone. He asks if Koromon accepts his apology.
Koromon accepts and they are friends again. They found Joe's crest and they keep on walking though the desert.
