Last episode, out heroes are falling from a cliff because Kuwagumon broke the cliff edge, with it's piercing 'antler-like' antennas. The digimon call out their partner's names like, "TK!" "Joe!" Palmon tries to use her poison ivy to grab a hold on the rock face and Mimi hangs on. It holds on, but the rock face is just not stable. The rock breaks and Mimi and Palmon plunge down into the water. Gomamon calls out "FISH NET!" A whole school of multi-colored fish float up on top and catches everyone. The heroes breath a sigh of relief, not for long! Kuwagumon falls also, because of it's massive weight. Kuwagumon falls and sets a huge tidal wave right to the group!
Luckily, they all get washed up on shore. Gomamon explains "those fish are good friends of mine". Agumon explains what happened to them. They digi-volved Tai doesn't understand, but Izzy does. Izzy explains that "digi-volve is what happens when they advance to the next level and become more powerful." Tai nods and understands, "when you guys digi-volved, you sure got a lot bigger." The digimon are still digimon. It was a difficult process, but with the kids' energy they could do it. Tehy share energy, even the Digimon don't know why.
Mimi can't take all that information in her head and says, "this whole thing makes my head spin-ny." Joe wants a plan and demands for a telephone or a pay phone. Matt objects and says he wants to explore around here. All they know is that they came from the mountain. Sora wants to find the reason they are brought here. Tai askes if there are more huge Digimon like Kuwagumon, unfortunately there is! The kids find out that they are the first humans to come to the Digi-World. Matt observes that it never seems to get dark. Izzy saw it too. He says, "it'll be unnatural". When Tai was up on the mountain, he saw a beach. He hopes to find a boat of some kind and go home. Everyone agrees and heads off, leaving Joe there to complain. "hey Joe, everyone's leaving!" Gomamon points out. Joe and Gomamon follow the group. The kids talk amongst themselves, saying how the enviroment is so different. Joe is still complaining and getting on Matt's nerves. "Joe, is there anything you don't complain about?" Matt says.
Each kid chats with their own digimon. Izzy seems puzzled and askes why the digital monsters are called that. They don't look a bit machine-like. Tentomon explains they like being called Digimon, than digital monsters. He shows a bit of machine-like sparks. TK askes Patamon if he can fly, Patamon tries. But he can only fly fly a few inches....backwards. He and Biyomon try to fly but, "isn't it easier to just walk?" Sora points out, seeing flying is such hard work. Mimi talks about Palmon's hair, asking her "I've been meaning to ask you, who does your hair?" Palmon replys "It's natural, I wake up like this.....don't you think you put too much emphasis on self image?" Mimi takes that in and ponders in her thoughts. Gabumon smells the aroma of the ocean therefore.....the beach! ring....ring....ring... "What's that?" Tai askes. "Sound like a telephone, or maybe we're all hearing things," Sora wonders. They follow the ringing.
Five lone telephone booths stand mysteriously on the beach. The kids find it, but by the time they reach it, whoever called hanged up already. Each kid and digimon try out all the phones. All they got were weird answers. 'the time is 50 miles per hour and ninety seconds' or 'please hang up and don't call again'. The kids are all discourage and sit down to rest, all except Joe who's desperately to contact someone.
grrr..ow...lll Tai's stomach growls and askes for food. They find the digi-vices that they received prior to coming to the Digi-World.
Izzy has the idea of taking it apart but his growling stomach distracts him. The kids decide to find out what everyone brought. They unpack.
Sora has her first-aid kit, bandages and medicine.
Tai has his mini telescope
Izzy brought his digital camera, lap-top and cellular phone
Matt brought nothing
TK brought a bag full of food!
surprisingly Mimi brought cooking fuel, a compass (that doesn't work) "the knives with all the stuff" and a flashlight.
after telling Joe to join them, Joe brought the other bag full of food. He was going to tell Mimi to carry it
Dividing the food seemed simple, Joe and Izzy calculated that they would have enough food for three days. They learned from Gabumon that Digimon can fend for themselves and find food for themselves. Meanwhile, Tai and Agumon are hungrily eating the food.
A rumbling in the distance wakes Gomamon up from his wading in the ocean. Biyomon senses it too. A distant rumbling. A huge blast of water shoots out from underneath the sand and knocks down all the telephone booths. "This way!" Joe exclaims, climbing the hill behind them. A huge shell with numerous horns protruding out arises. Soon a head, arms and legs appear. The screen zooms in and the Digimon's name appears. It is Shellmon. "Attacked by two digital monsters in one day, doesn't Shellmon know I'm allergic to shell fish?" Joe complains. Tentomon explains to the group that Shellmon is a Digimon that gets mad for no reason. Shellmon blasts a gush of water towards Joe, knocking him down. Then he blasts water at Gomamon and knocks him out too.
The Digimon are ready to battle. Agumon fires his Fire Breath and hits Shellmon square in the face. Gabumon attacks with Blue Blaster, Biyomon with Spiral Twister, Patamon with Boom Bubbles, Palmon with poison ivy......nothing happens. The Digimon all except Agumon can attack. Why? It is because Agumon was the one that ate and replenished his strength. The others get knocked around by Shellmon. Only Agumon remain, "looks like it's up to you and me, Agumon" Tai says. Agumon needs a distraction to attack, Tai runs over and grabs a huge stick and hits Shellmon with it. Shellmon doesn't even flinch. It grabs Tai with it's tentacle-like green 'hair'. Agumon attacks Shellmon again, but Shellmon got his arm covering Agumon. They're trapped!
Tai is slowly being crushed, the others are being blasted by water what to do? "D-i-G-i-v-o-l-v-e!!!" A flash of light comes from Agumon and the screen flashes to Agumon. Agumon is spinning with lots of letters and Japanese characters flying around in the background. Agumon digi-volve to.....Greymon!
Now Agumon/Greymon is bigger (same size as Shellmon), full of muscles and blue stripes with a metal-thing on it's head that has three horns. One on the nose, one on the left side of head and one on the right side of the head. Greymon goes after Shellmon, Shellmon throws Tai down. Fire vs. Water who will win? Steam erupts from the middle Greymon fires his attack...."Digi Nova Blast!!!" A huge fireball erupts from Greymon's powerful jaws and blasts Shellmon away into the distance. Greymon won the battle! Light shines from Greymon's body and shrinks, he is now Agumon again. Agumon lies down and is totally wiped out. Tai runs toward him and holds him up. "Tai? Tai. " A tired Agumon says. Tai is relieved that Agumon is alright.
The kids give the food to the Digimon to eat and revive their strength. The team decides to explore through the Digi-World to find people or whoever it was that built the telephone booths. Everyone leaves with a new recovered hope and they all walk toward mysterious places where adventure will find them.
