GUILD RANKS AND STATUS:
RANKS: Members may be promoted different ranks, thus giving
them more power as well as more responsibility. Your rank will
be determined by your honor, actions and dedication to the guild.
These are the ranks and brief descriptions of each:
+++ Initiate: have no special abilities, other than
to vote for the leader of their choice. They may not even open the
outer doors of their own guild hall. The time required for this rank
varies before becoming a full fledge member. This is a trial period
and the higher ranks will be watching your actions. This is the time
to prove your dedication to the Guild.
+++ Shadow: have the ability to vote.
A full fledge member with all the privileges the guild has to offer.
This position is the backbone of the Guild. Helping other members,
sharing information, advancing your character, and defense of the Guild
are the major responsibilities of this rank.
+++ Dark Knight: have the ability to vote and
invite new members into the guild. Responsible for the progress of
new members. Organize guild functions to advance the members character.
Ex. Node gathering parties. Recruitment of worthy Guild members is
also a responsibility of this rank.
+++ Shadow Warrior (1st Officers): may vote, invite
new members in, kick unruly members out, promote or demote people of lower
ranks than themselves, and form or shatter alliances. They may also
rent a guild hall if their guild is mature. This rank has the ability to
discipline members that have dishonored the Guild, including fines, banishment,
and Death. They may also speak for the guild in the absence of the GM.
+++ Guildmaster (Commander): has all powers associated
with guilding, including the right to disband the guild. The GM is reponsible
for naming a council of not less than four other members and no more than
six.
+++ Guild Council: Council that includes at least
four guild members and the Guildmaster which meets and votes on major
policy and decisions that affect the Guild. Council members are selected
by the Guildmaster and will be reflected in the member's character description.
Besides sitting on the council each council member will be given a job
by the GM to assist in the running of the daily issues of the guild.
The Council has the ability to override the Guildmaster's decision with
a majority vote.
RENT:
It costs money to keep up the paperwork
involved with the guild charter, and thus a fee is charged by the Guild
Administrator for the service. Rent is accrued at a regular rate,
and the rate of increase is affected by many factors, including the number
of members in the guild and the number of enemies and allies that have
declared. The largest affector of rent is whether or not a guild
hall is owned. Guild halls can be quite expensive. So, an initial
charge of 10000 shillings is required for all new members during the Initiate
phase of rank. It is to be paid to the GM or the council treasurer,
and your status will be relayed to the other ranking officers. Periodic
contributions to the guild is required to remain a member (The Shadow Warrior
has the ability to request monetary contributions in the amount he sees
fit from the guild's members at any time).
REMEMBER: support your guild, for it's strength
depends on it members!
