My Bat'leth
As seen on the Star Trek series and movies, the Klingon Bat'leth (or Batleth, Batlith or Bat'telh) is a two-handed weapon with 3 handles (some have only one centered handle).  The name means "Sword Of Honor".  They can be bought over the Internet from many sites, and the cheaper versions are made of aluminum, the more expensive are made of steel.  I wanted to try my hand at making one, so I decided to make a wooden one to serve as a model.  But I then decided that a wooden Bat'leth could look great if polished, stained and varnished, and with real grips applied.  That's what I did.
The weapon is finished now. Below are the scanned pictures and a description of the time it took, step-by-step.  Want to try your hand at doing one ?  Go ahead !  You could even send me the pictures once finished, and I could make a gallery of the best creations...  JPG format, please !
For pictures of a Bat'leth, just do a search for "Batleth".  One martial arts weapons site is great.
