A: The second listing - a +1 to fighting strength
and intellect Power cards used for defense only.
Q: I've seen somewhere that you can
only shift the attacks to someone if they can defend them, and that the
person must defend them. Also, the attack cannot be shifted to someone
in the reserve. Can they be shifted to the reserve if the reserve has the
ability to defend (such as with an Event)?
A: No. Attacks can only be shifted amongst the
front line and yes, that Character must block the attack.
Q: Are there any other stipulations
on the use of FF Plaza as a Home Base? Any other Errata or clarifications
to make it less powerful?
A: None that I am aware of.
A: This question focuses around the common event
of shifting. What I mean by common event is that there are many
ways attacks can be shifted in OP. FF Plaza is one example, Marauders
Vertigo is another, AC Specials another, CT
Specials still another, and I'm probably forgetting some. In that
respect, this answer applies to ALL shifting scenarios.
When a CD Special (or another type of special which prevents certain/allattacks from being made against a character) is played, it prevents the OPPONENT from targetting the character in certain ways. When a shift is donethough, the opponent is not targetting the character, the player is.Therefore the character must still defend against this attack.
Think of it another way - there is no scenario in OP that I can think
of whereby the opponent would be able to play a card and I can then
defend that attack without playing a card. Certainly, I might be
able to set up the situation so that he can't play the card in the
first place (if everyone on the front line had CD or BJ Specials,
for example), but if the opponent has
the ability to play the attack at the onset of the turn, then it
won't be defended without the player playing a card as well.
Mind you , the above is not a rule, but it's my understanding of
all scenarios that I can imagine to date.
A: The defensive bonus is applied only to "pure"
Power types - in Mr. Fantastic's example, energy and strength Power cards
- none other.
Q: If I use Avenger's Mansion as
a Battlesite, with Android Endurance as my OPD, could I use it on Strong
Guy then use his Pile it on to make him invincible?
A: Sure - but there has been a ruling that if
a character is made completely un-KO'able then if they are both spectrum
and cumulatively KO'd then the KO takes affect.
Q: If Wakanda is -1 to Multi-Power
Power card attacks, how would you attack with a level 1 Multi-Power Power
card?
A: Firstly, it is only -1 to attacks, so the
value, if it hits would not be affected. Secondly, you can make a level
0 attack. It needs to be defended with something or it hits. Its still
an icon.
Q: The monthly venture they sent
out if you are a member of the OP Legion, it had in there 2 battlesites.
One was Mojo World which has 5 avoids and 3 negates and in that letter
it said it was legal, But at the last tournament I was at they said
it was not. I was wondering which is it.
Because I plan on going to a tournament on the 31st and would like
to know if I could play it that way.
A: Battlesite rules have changed slightly since Locations very first came out, and since very soon after that Monthly Venture newsletter article that you are referencing. At first, players built Mojo World with a bunch of Negates, and Latveria with a ton of Avoids, but a few months later the game makers at Fleer added to the rules to tone that way down. One reason was to make a Battlesite more comparable to Any-Hero/Character Cards, that are all (with the exception of Alien Symbiote) One-Per-Deck.
The current Battlesite building rules are such that you can only
have one One-Per-Deck, and only one of each two-letter code under a Battlesite.
That means only one AO (straight Negate), one AG (straight Avoid), one
AD (Avoid with a stipulation), one AA, one AR, etc. It doesn't matter
if there are two different Characters on a Location who both have an AO,
you have to choose which one and only one to include under the Battlesite.
It's important to note here that you have to pay close attention to miscodes...some
AG cards should actually be coded AD, for example.
Q: If I'm using Wakanda as my battlesite,
can I put Morlocks non-OPD specials under there, and use Storm: Neutralized
as an activator to retrieve them? The common sense answer seems to
be no, but the rulings make me wonder.
A: Yes, you can. So long as Morlocks aren't
on your team.
A: Crystal is a special case since it cannot be used as an activator (because of the chrome card). But if it were a regular card, then you would be able to use Crystal and Inhuman activators to cut back on dupes. The number of Crystal activators plus the number of inhuman activators would have to equal the number of specials under the site.
