The veteran frowns as a nearby civilian with a radio screams, "Begin!"

He guns his throttle, hoping he would see his enemy before making a break for the top of the hill. He'd like to get a few leg shots off to slow him down. He hadn't lost a challenge yet, and on Teran, they came often.

Situation

On the quiet, yet well armed planet of Teran a MechWarrior has issued a challenge. Being a planet of equiped dare-devils, he got many replies. He chose one and immediately suited up.

He has challenged another MechWaior to a race, then defence. The victor must make it to the top of the hill and defend it for a preset amount of time. If both warriors reach the top, it becomes an all out slug fest.

Set Up

Lay out the map enclosed, (khill1.gif). The legend is below:

Rough terrain. Costs 2MP.
Heavy woods. Costs 3MP and could block Line-of-Sight.
Hill. Note number in bottom right, on any hex, this denotes elevation level.

Defender

The defender is the man who accepts the challenge. He may chhose any one mech under 85 tons and with no more than 4 jumping MP.

Deployment

The defender starts at the 't' at HexA10.

Attacker

The attacker, who issued the challenge in the first place, may take any mech under 85 tons and with no more than 4 jumping MP.

Deployment

The attacker starts at the 'X' at Hex1J.

Victory Conditions

The victor is the player who reaches on of the level 3 heavy woods and defends those three hexes for four turns. This are is known as the Peak. If two players are on the peak, the battle continues until on of the players is destroyed or leaves the peak. If a player leaves the peak in this fashion, he has four turns to reach it again.

Variants

The eaisiest way to vary this scenario is to alter the timer. Make is more time or less time to defend the top.
