
Ron Gilbert, creator of the first two Monkey
Island games, based his concept on California Disneyland's theme park attraction, Pirates of The Caribbean.
The screenshot above, taken from Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's
Revenge, shows Guybrush Threepwood captive in the Phatt Island jail.
Notice the key in the dog's mouth - a dog I don't think by coincidence is named
Walt. Anyway, this is the same scene as depicted in Pirates of the
Caribbean ride where jailed pirates try to get the jail key from a dog's mouth.
