Salve! Yesterday I had a 1000pts. battle against Dark Elves and ... crushed them completelly.
Terrein was not important exept big hill with tower in my deployment zone corner.
I rolled to deploy first, and then rolled to go second (start was not that lucky for me).
My 15 halflings hide in tower, just 3 were left on the roof.
Rest of army deployed in one line from right to left:
My hero with Crown of sorcery and Enchanted shield in full armor on warhorse stood near unit of 5 Blasing sun knights with Std.of shielding and General (full armor, Crown of Command, Potion of strengh, Jade amulet). Next stood 12 flagellants. 1 lvl wisard with Cloak of Mists and Shadows hanged somewhere around.
Dark elves forsce:
4 Cold one knights + champ in front of my knights. Big unit (~15) of Black Ark corsairs with champ, Std. of Shielding, General and level 1 mage stood in front of flagelants. THATS ALL!
I have chosen necro spells: Curse of years, Gaze of Nagash and Drain Life. 1 lvl wisard got Net.
On turn one his CO knights march towards my knights. Too brave - I realised. BA corsairs move and shoot ant flagelants and kill none. Magic: none. (I stored Escape and Menthal duel (1lvl vs. 3lvl:)
My turn: Although I could charge CO knights right now, I felt something vicious in that unit and just came closer (and hoped to cast Net). Flagelants moved closer, 1lvl wisard moved his normal move closer (didn't wanted to reveal I have CoM&S). Hero moved to aim into flank of CO knights. Then halflings shot at CO knights (8 hit, 4 wound, TWO dead failing armor save 2+). Genaral and hero kill 2 BAC. I tried to cast Gase of Nagash on CO knights to get rid of this trouble or to drain more cards to push through NET. He drained magic and lost his only level. No more Dark magic to beware:)
Turn two: CO knights charge my knights with general. As his champ isin base contact with my Genaral I isue challenge feelind that it will make no worse. Armor save 1+ was too hard for him and I lost combat only by 1 and styed ground. All BAC moved forward and shot at lonely hero just to find out his armor save 1+ :). Magic: Spells none , but I store TOTAL POWER.
My general drinks potion of strengh. Hero charges CO knights. Flagelants move to have both CO knights and BAC in charge arc. In hand to hand hero kills one knight; general kills his Champ. And then Ba Bah... Heart of Woe! 6 strengh 9 hits to my poor General and he's dead. Luckily noene cares and all my troops pretend not to see his terrible death. But his last CO knight refuse to break too. Shooting: halflings kill 5 more corsairs! Magic: Total Powered Curse of the years on BAC unit. He lost his mage and half of the unit. All what is left are 3 corsairs, champ and general. Gaze of Nagash killed last CO knight. I stored Escape (and did not casted Net, couse only 'good' target for his last force was my lone hero standing in front of knights).
Corsairs charge my hero. Assasin leaps out, but forgets to drink potion of Strengh, so does nothing (armor save 1+ is wonderfull indeed) and is killed by powerful hero. I lost combat because of standart and musician, but stand ground. Magic - he fails to dispel CotY :)
Feeling power of my spell in play I charge with noeone, just move flagelants to face the rare of DE unit. halflings shoot into close combat not fearing to hurt hero and kill last 2 corsairs. Champ and general stand ground and kill my hero who appears back on the table with escape card :) Magic: Curse of Years KILLS THEM BOTH.
