Leaping Bronze, Black Amulet on the neck.
15 Black Arc Corsairs with add. hand weapons and repeater x-bows, with
Standart of Shielding, incl. champ with Crown of Command, hiding an
assasin with potion of Strengh.
War Hydra
I deployed first and started first.
After I surveyed his army I was happy to see no mages, but War hydra was
something I did not expected to see in 1000 pts. battle. My magic items
were pretty useless against it, so I prayed for Sigmar to give me
something and I was rewarded with NET spell, alhgough Fear and Teleport
self were not that usefull.
At the start of the game we rolled dices twise: Does Std. of Shielding
gives unmodified save 4+ for corsairs and Does Hydra can breath fire in
HTH at any unit. Both times he won.
Turn one:
No movement, exept mage, who hide in the forest to be within 12" from
War hydra. Shooting only Hochland long rifle has range and I KILL CHAMP
in Corsair's unit. Yessss, although I had no idea how important that is.
Magic: Fear does nothing (as all 3 times per battle).
Dark elves: General fly high, Hydra and Corsair move forward. Corsairs
shoot at my general just to find out his super armor save:) During magic
phase I stored Total Power.
Turn two:
Flagelants move to angle my front and prepare to charge flank of
corsairs. In shooting phase halflings inflict one wound to hydra.
Magic: Fear pssssss:( , but I still wait for total powered net.
General decides not to land (why?), hydra moves forward, corsairs march
move forward.
Turn three:
War wagon and General charge corsairs, War wagon inflict one impact hit,
no wounds, same does the crew, but horses kill 2 corsairs. General with
Sword of Justice easily kills 3 more. That is all first rank. Corsairs
break and flee, I pursue with War wagon and destroy them. (Rob didn't
reveal his assasin hoping to use him with potion of strengh next turn).
Knights and flagellants maneuvre to be able to charge hydra next turn.
Magic: Total Powered NET on Hydra (Yessss).
Dark elves: His general charges mine. Inflicts no wounds, but rebounds
one mine and rolls 1 (black amulet exhausted!) Although with one would
I stand ground. During magic phase he dispelled Net :(
Turn four: My War Wagon turns to have Hydra or General in charge arc.
Knights did not dire to charge Hydra without support from War wagon (I
still have one turn left). Halflings shoot at Hydra and inflict one
wound, repeater hand gun hits all 6 times, but fails to wound :( In hand
to hand my General chops his almost naked (without Black amulet) General
to pieces, and his pegasus flee, but was not cought by my general.
Magic: I try to cast Net on Hydra and he rolls 1 needing 2+ to dispell.
Turn four:
War wagon passes terror test and charges helpless Hydra, but knights are
not that brave and flee rather then charge. General charges fleeing
pegasus, who flees of the board. War wagon inflicts 5 inpact hits, but
only one wound. Crew and horses do nothing, but I win combat by one,
hydra breaks and unable to flee is destroyed. END of COMBAT.
Glory for Sigmar, Emperor and Empire. On return home I will not see any
widows crying - I lost not a single man it this battle.
