Section 2: Strategy
Opening
Hand: Sinclair, Sheridan, Psi Corp Intelligence, ???
Opening
Strategy: Build to 6 influence right away to get Psi Corp
Intelligence into play. Use it every turn to put unwanted cards at
the bottom of your deck. Wait on replacing Sinclair until you're
ready. Get at least 1 other character into Inner Circle. Do
not play
any cards giving Vorlon marks yet (except maybe Kosh). Keep tensions
low to avoid a costly war. (Don't forget PsiCorp)
Midgame
Strategy: Replace Sinclair with Sheridan and get moving with those
Vorlon marks. Get to 5 ASAP and play Order Above All (with 3 in the
deck one should be up relatively soon with help from PsiCorp).
Transfer often, but if the need arises for a powerful character, play
him instead. Enhance a telepath (or two) and play some groups to
maximize their potential. (Lyta is very cost effective here.
Bester
is also good, but don't forget his forcing you to draw 2 cards - don't
want to run out too fast) Keep the pace of the game slow. Cancel
conflict cards, and forcibly impair any agendas that look threatening.
Psi attack your opponent's major players to keep them out of your
hair. Play fleets only if needed. Remember to constantly use
your
PsiCorp. Keep a 2nd agenda handy just in case. You will quickly
become the target of EVERYONES conflicts, so be ready for them.
(Don't forget PsiCorp)
Endgame
Strategy: Cancel, cancel, cancel. Stop anything remotely harmful
or dangerous. Use You are Not Ready for a quick Vorlon influence
boost or if you are clogged with conflicts. The Shadow War might
not
need to be started, but once it does, victory should be right within
your grasp. Oh yeah... don't forget to use PsiCorp.
Weaknesses:
First of all, using a Major Agenda severely limits you.
And a Forced Evolution/Shadow deck could keep your power too low.
Needing 5 Vorlon Marks before using Order Above All takes a little
time. A quick destiny/doom/MtP deck might get to you before your
agenda comes out. Probably the biggest problem of all comes from
other agendas right now. You have no way of stopping Power Politics,
Knowledge Is Power, or any other influence gaining agenda. Your only
options are to FI the agendas, or somehow hope to beat them at their
own agendas - probably not likely though. Also, with the new Shadows
expansion, you might have a problem since you don't do any conflicts
to gain power or influence... we'll see. :)
Section 3: Variations
As you notice, the opening hand is slightly flexible. Base the 4th
card around what you are expecting from your opponents. Use Who Are
You or Contact with Vorlons if you want to speed up towards that magic
number of 5 marks. Not Meant To Be can be a great card to stop quick
playing of events, esp. those to increase tension. Or maybe just
Meditation to get more cards. If you've got them, Carpe Diem to bring
back You Are Not Ready will boost the Vorlon influence fast.
PsiCorp keeps this deck flying and flexible. The sheer number of
characters is normally overwhelming, but PsiCorp lets you send
unwanted cards straight down to the bottom.
DECK COMMENTS FOR: Son of the Vorlons
Firdt of all you should have at least 1 copy
of Early Warning to deal with intrigue decks and secret vorlon aide, 3
copies of kidnapping should be there I can't think why I only see 1, Perhaps
adding In a trilumanry or two would help sense last I heard humans are
capable of deploying Trilumanaries, this deck sounds like it should
win against almost anything execpt, Shadow decks sinse from what I've seen
they can move considerabley faster and screw over vorlon decks with the
shadow cards; to counter a Power Politics or Knowledge is Power agenda
just use that last slot in your opening hand for Level the Playing Feild?
It will work for all of those agendas. Well, thats my piont of veiw.
-Will Cavert
//The ruling that Will is talking about with
Triluminaries is slightly different from his interpretation, I believe
(If /I'm/ wrong, email me and I'll change it at the first opportunity).
The ruling is that any player can play the triluminary on any Minbari player..
so it wouldn't be all that useful in this instance.
