Section 2: Strategy
Opening
Hand: Shadows says: "Sheridan, Sinclair, Mary Ann Cramer,
and As It Was Meant To Be", but there's an obvious problem with that!!
"Looking at the number of cards put
in, I would guess that the opening hand was: Sinclair, Destiny Fulfilled,
Higher Calling, Mary Ann Cramer. I'll have to try that out, but I
would recomend changing the Higher Calling to As it Was Meant To be, and
switch that to 3 Higher Callings.. get those marks as quickly as possible.
I guess the advantage is that your oppoents don't know that you're going
for destiny off the bat. Also, the lack of Sheridan in the opening
hand of a human destiny deck is quite interesting, but again, with Mary
Ann Cramer you're looking at a bit longer game, but one with more possibilites.
Same thing with the absence of Psi Corp Intelligence. Rather risky
with only one in the deck." -Patrick Lacz
Opening
Strategy:
"Not straight destiny - instead move
towards diplomacy, making friends with Trade Pacts if you can. Build
up a power structure to win diplomacy conflicts and enough Psi to make
use of Psi Corp Intelligence. (Discretely, of course.) Your
goal is not to provoke anyone untill you can race to the end." -Patrick
Lacz
Midgame
Strategy:
"Now starts the shift.
Start by enhancing your Psi aspects, but the Midgame really starts when
you play As It Was Meant To Be and Sheridan. Then, you just run for
the marks.. or, if you're not in that much danger of losing quickly, be
more discreet and do it slowly. Races cry out, "Stop Me." I'm
sure this deck knew that and tried to avoid the full agression of the other
2 or 3 players." - Patrick Lacz
Endgame
Strategy:
"Not much here, you have a couple
boosts: Trade Windfalls and Explorations (Deep Space Fleet).. 'pretty much
used when the other players realize you are close to winning. It
would be nice to have another option here, but playing Higher Calling is
the only final blow unless you did really well for yourself in the Midgame.
Remember that neutralized characters' marks still count (Neutralize Sinclair
with one of those For My People as the last move - 2 extra power, yeah!"
-Patrick Lacz
Weaknesses:
"Since the deck isn't designed for
speed, it can lose to faster decks if you draw poorly. Most times
that won't be a problem since Doom/Destiny decks are really the main area
of competition and you're the fastest for both of those. The real
problem I see is that if people just don't like you. They don't trust
you and suspect you moving towards destiny, or keep targeting conflicts
to discard part of your hand. What if you can't get Higher Calling?
There really should be a back up, and it can be done as simply as w/ 2
cards: Power Politics (for a chance after the centauri Shadow War), and
Support of the Mighty, giving you 4-5 more power.. although that's really
last ditch." -Patrick Lacz
Section 3: Variations
"I sort of covered this
in the Weaknesses.. sorry. I expect this area to recieve significant
expansion from email. Thanks." -Patrick Lacz
