Section 2: Strategy
Opening Hand: Disciple of Light, Jeffrey Sinclair, John Sheridan, Psi Corps Intelligence
Opening Strategy: Turn 1 - Build to 5; Turn 2 - Build to 6; Turn 3 - Bring out Psi Corps Intelligence and start searching the deck; Turn 4 - Build to 7 with Sinclair, replace with Sheridan, bring out Disciple of Light and gain 2 Vorlon marks <the way we understand it here, Sheridan's rotating to gain the other mark is not official, nor is it a rule in our games>; Build to 10 influence and gain 2 more Vorlon marks.
Midgame Strategy: Bring out whatever cards you can. Make sure to use Psi Corp Intelligence EVERY turn, probably as your first action. Play the diplomatic conflicts when you get them out. Add more Vorlon marks to your characters when you can, spreading them around to minimize the impact of Competing Interests. You need to have 3 marks available so you can bring out Entil'zha, the White Star and the vorlon cruisers as soon as you can, 4 marks so you can boost Commander Ivanova's Psi up to 15 after you've replaced Susan. If you can find Alliance of Races, replace your agenda as soon as you have enough Vorlon marks and start building Babylon 5's influence. Pass as many Babylon 5 votes as you can, with luck you'll have both Backroom dealing and a passed Non-Aligned Support. Use Sigma 957 and The Young Races Rise to delay the Shadow War. <Remember, only take vorlon marks from your agenda, NEVER rotate your ambassador, you want the Vorlons to get as little influence as possible.> If things start getting nasty, then use Ranger Operations and either Hidden Knowledge to check out the other players' hands and make them discard stuff.
Endgame Strategy: How this goes depends upon what agenda you'll be using. If you've got AoR and have thwarted the Shadow War, then play Upgraded Advantage to hit or pass 20 and win! If you haven't thwarted the Shadow War, then keep transerring influence, win Rally the People and use The Hope of Peace to give you the extra power to win. Last, but not least, you can use Power Politics to gain influence, then Support of the Mighty to give you up to 6 extra power. It may be a challenge, but you can achieve a victory for The One!
Weaknesses: (1) Speed decks can be a problem. If you're playing against people who like to use them, you might go for AoR right away, with Temporary Aid and/or Kosh Naraneck to help you get out the Vorlon mark cards. (2) Shadow War decks -stock up on events and enhancements to raise tensions and delay the Shadow War. (3) Intrigue decks - you've got some decent Intrigue ability in this deck. Get Zack and as many other humans into the Inner Circle as you can. Stock up on Secret Vorlon aid Early warnings, give your inner circle members some weapons and intimidate the other players. (4) War decks - You've got a decent selection of fleets and good leaders for the ships, so I think you can hold your own against them.
Variations: If you want to get a lot of influence fast, replace Sheridan with Catherine in your starting hand and change Disciple of Light to Defense in Depth. Leave Psi Corps Intelligence alone, since you'll need to search your deck for Sheridan to replace Sinclair.
