In the beginning, Jaque was as he appears here. A nobleman, bearing the insignia of his family lineage - a golden crown. Although his clothing is light, the relatively heavy chainmail armour is reinforced by small leather pads. These additional pads, are used with his swordsmaster style of swordplay; and although they appear rather bulky, Jaque has trained with them since his childhood, his physique being perfectly suited to their use.
