How it all started...

The city of Forgal was brought to its charred remains only 6 years ago, by an angry mob of trolls from the nearby city of Sooth. The village of Sooth, lies a few hours on horseback from Forgal, up a narrow winding trail in the centre of a small forest. The trolls of Sooth are highly religious, and pay homeage to their sacred fountain which is set in the village center. It is rumoured the fountain has healing properties. The normally peaceful folk of Sooth do not meddle in the affairs of foreigners, so it came as a surprise to the people of Forgal that their riverside homes were torched.

'Brun - an ex-mercenary and warrior by discipline, happened to be drinking that day with a pompous swordsmaster named Jaque. Outside they heard the drums and pipes of the troll raiders, and upon involving themselves with the affairs of townfolk, they volunteered the rest of their existance to legend.

What had happened to stir the trolls of Sooth? Half a days ride south of Forgal is a town called Solash, predominately elven and housing many traders in craftwork. The Emporor of Solash had decided to fabricate a war between the people of Forgal and the villiage of Sooth, in order to expand his control over the forests the trolls were using. A secret elven order called the 'Lunari', who lived in Solash, had taken it upon themselves to destroy what they believed were the 'impure' races.

So the Emporor used his influence over this order, to inspire a raid on the troll village. After the success of the raid the Emporor sent messengers to Sooth claiming that his men had witnessed people riding out of Forgal that night. This is why the trolls attacked Forgal. So the people of Forgal prepared for a counter raid. The Emporor of Solash, seizing this opportunity, informed the 'Lunari' cult who quickly joined the raiding party. Additionally, he commanded his best men, including his local hero Sauros (an elven cavalryman): to 'protect the peaceful folk of Forgal from the evil trolls of Sooth'.

When Brun and Jaque discovered all of this, they could do very little but defend the trolls who had fallen prey to the Emporors plans. To their aid they discovered the lair of the mighty dragon Kopaz, who slept beneath the fountain of Sooth. It was foretold that Kopaz would rise against the aggressors of the village of Sooth in it's time of need. So Brun and Jaque awoke the dragon to fulfil its destiny. Unbeknownst to them, the dragons fate was not tied to this event. However Kopaz's rage was quenched in the battle against the invading armies, so he decided to spare the lives of Brun and Jaque.

From there, Brun and Jaque became allied to the trolls of Sooth and villains to the Empor of Solash. Nevertheless, this is where it all started.
