A dwarf by the name of Thrandril Ironfist runs Cash Converters.
His two minders, Balin Bloodaxe and Thor Ironhammer always accompany Thrandril. The shop windows are barred and a steel gate blocks the doorway. The door itself is constructed of solid oak.
Entrance is gained by approaching the gate and calling out Thrandril. If Thrandril is not present then the door is always kept shut and locked.
When you approach the gate you will become aware that it is in fact a steel cage. With second steel barred door. Either Balin or Thor will open the outer door, whilst the other bodyguard covers the potential customer with a heavy crossbow. The outer door can be opened without the bodyguard coming into sight; this is because it slides open. The customer is allowed into the cage and then the outer door is closed behind them.
Once the outer door is closed again the inner door on the cage is opened. The customer is then able to enter the shop.
Thrandril will always greet his guests with an apology but as he points out, the nature of his business requires extreme security.
Thrandril business is the buying and selling of treasure, whether it is gems, jewellery, magical weapons or anything of great value.
Amongst the goods for sale are a limited number of silver weapons. If a customer wants a particular weapon made especially for them in silver then he is more than willing to arrange it.
If a customer is selling treasure Thrandril will offer a good price.
Thrandril offers one other service and that is as a strong room. Beneath the shop in a steel cellar Thrandril keeps safety deposit boxes and he is prepared to offer storage of money and goods at a price of 1% the goods value. There is no limit to how long the goods can be stored and therefore the price has to be paid up front. Thrandril will value any treasure stored here for the purpose of storage price.
