Civilization2: Multiplayer Gold Edition

Essentially, he storyline in this game is the same as in Civilization. However, there are some pretty major differences between the two games. One of the most obious differences is in the graphics department. While not the most outstanding graphics that I have seen, they were a big improvement over the grapics of the first civilization. Perhaps an even bigger improvement was that of the computer AI. Although the AI was pretty good in the first civ, at least when it came out, there is a much imporved AI in Civ II. The computer isn't quite so dumb this time around.
One of my favorite imporvements is that of the mission pack that comes with the gold edition. It allows you to play all kinds of cool scenarios such as civil war missions and space missions. Some of these scenarios only got a cosmetic change, such as "new" units of furturistic or historical significance. However, other scenarios got completly reworked all the way down to the technology tree that drives the games.
Another one of the great improvements in civ II is the fact that you can create your own scenarios. While you could hack some of the old text files on the first civ, you couldn't really change the game that much. This time you can just about do anything you want when it comes to editing or building a scenario.

Overall 9.5
Bottom Line: When it comes right down to it, this is one of the greatest games of all times. Its hard to imagine improving on a classic like Civilization, but some how Sid Meier managed to do that. This is a game everyone should own, even your long lost hungarian nephew.
