| History: | Monsanto moved its headquarters from an eight-story office building near
downtown St. Louis to suburban Creve Coeur in 1957. Over the years, the number of
buildings at this 300+ acre site grew to include 16 buildings housing offices and research
laboratories, wooded areas with nature trails, and two employee cafeterias. In 1999 Monsanto and Solutia were bought out by Pentex. Solutia, spun
off from Monsanto Sept. 1, 1997, remained on the Monsanto campus as its new headquarters
was being built. By Sept. 1, 1999, Solutia's headquarters will move to its new Maryville
Centre development in west St. Louis County. |
| Research Facilities: | Solutia also maintains a research facility as part of its headquarters in the St. Louis area. This facility houses about 150 people, and is located in Webster Groves, Missouri. |
