Serverside Game variables
mp_autoteambalance 0 (or 1) - This turns on and off auto team balancing.
mp_limitteams # - This is the number of players more one teams is allowed to have compared to the other. 0 is off.
mp_friendlyfire 0 (or 1)- This turns on and off friendly fire.
sv_restartround # - This is the number of seconds until the game restarts.
Clientside variables
name ****** - changes your name to ******.
exit - Exits Counter-Strike.
bind "key" "command" - Binds a specific key to a specific command. Very useful if you use certain commands often. I have several keys bound to different names i use for example.
net_graph (0-3) - This displays your FPS (frames per second) and some other useful information. try each one to see the differences.
rate (0-9999) - This is the amount of information that is sent to you over the internet. For people with a regular modem, you should use a number between 2000 and 5000, dpending on how good your connection is. For people with DSL, a Cable Modem, T1, T3, or a LAN connection, you should pick something from 5000-9999. Test different values and pick ones you feel works the best.
cl_updaterate (0-100) - This is how often the server gets information from you. Pick a low setting for a slow connetion, and a high number for a faster connection. Test different values and pick ones you feel works the best.

Admin Mod
In some servers, they will have the addon Admin Mod. This allows for the adminstrators to have more control over the server and the server variables. In you join a server with Admin Mod, type admin_help in the console to view a list of commands you have access to.
