Activision is back  with a few surprises for this year.

Vigilante 8: Second Offense is the sequel to Activision's car-combat Vigilante 8 Delivering vehicular mayhem in classic combat form, the sequel provides a bevy of unseen supercharged vehicles as well as an arsenal of new weapons. With new characters, Second Offense introduces a quest mode with larger and more challenging quests with diverse objectives. Other aspects include new power-ups, weapons, special moves and modes of play, as well as an improved level of graphical detail including exhaust, fog, water effects, brake lights and more realistic explosions.

Nightmare Creatures 2: the sequel to Nighhtmare Creatures, released a few years back, takes place 100 years after the first one.  Players can choose from 3 characters, including Rachelle Donnerty, an English secret agent; Charles Havensmith, an exorcist priest; or Herbert Wallace, an occult specialist, and hack their way through 18 levels with about 30 different monsters.   Gamers must wield new weapons,and learn spells as they travel through US and Europe.

Marvel's X-Men:Developed by Syrox, this 3D fighting game is being taken very seriously by a team that's looking to make its first great fighting game. Due in spring 2000, X-Men stars different sized characters from both the X-Men team and the enemies of the mutant leaders. The story follows the deadly Apocalypse who will face the X-Men in a battle of the titans.
