LEGACY OF KAIN: SOUL REAVER

VITAL STATS

Release Date 3-31-99
Rating, Type Teen, Adventure

If you've been keeping up with the latest gaming news, you would know that the sequel so the so so popular Legacy Of Kain for the Playstation has been the hot news since the E3 in May '98.  The sequel, Soul Reaver, uses a vastly enhanced revision of the Gex 3D and offers some of the most impressive visuals on the Playstation so far.  Probably the best part in the original games was the fact that you could suck the blood out of any and every one you like.  This was also the most addictive part of the game, forget the quest and suck suck suck...Anyway, enough of that.  Here is the deal with Soul Reaver:  Its 1000 years after Kain returned from hell to get vengeance, during which time he gained power, ruling the world with vampires at his side.  You play Raziel, one of Kain's ex-lieutenants and your job is to suck souls for your master, an entity known as "The Elder," (this is our hero!!).  Raziel was eternally dammed by Kain for going against him.  But this time around, your world, Nosgoth is fully 3D, and can be fully explorable.  The graphics are just awesome, from spectacular lighting effects to breath taking polygonal environments, which blend together to give the game a very realistic environment, almost scary at times.  And yes, you can still suck the souls of both innocent and guilty.  If Crystal Dynamics does everything right, Soul Reaver could become a potential blood-sucker when it comes to money in the videogame market.   So, watch for it soon...
