EARTHLY POSSESSIONS tells the story of Charlotte Emery, a sheltered homemaker, disillusioned with marriage and intent on leaving her husband. Over the course of her three-decade career, Sarandon has given memorable performances in such diverse films as "Atlantic City," "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," "Bull Durham," "Thelma & Louise," "Lorenzo's Oil" and "The Client."
Stephen Dorff (Jake) recently starred in the supernatural thriller "Blade" with Wesley Snipes and wrapped production on "Entropy," in which he co-stars with U2 and Lauren Holly. His other film credits include "City of Industry," with Harvey Keitel, "Blood and Wine," with Jack Nicholson, "I Shot Andy Warhol," "Backbeat," in which he portrayed Stu Sutcliffe, the fifth Beatle, and "The Power of One."
Director James Lapine is a Tony Award-winning playwright and producer ("Sunday in the Park with George"), who made his directorial film debut with "Impromptu" in 1991, followed by "Life with Mikey." He also directed the TV versions of "Sunday in the Park with George," as well as "Into the Woods" and "Passion," which he also wrote.
Executive producer Alan Greisman has produced 15 feature films, among them "Mr. Jones," "Soapdish," the "Fletch" films starring Chevy Chase, "'night, Mother," "Surrender," "Modern Problems" and "Heart Beat."

The film, written and directed by Phil Joanou (who directed the U2 concert film,"Rattle and Hum"), stars Dorff as a first-time director who gets the opportunity of a lifetime to make a feature about U2.
